Okay for the price. I got this as a temporary until I find a good one I want to really buy. It's okay, but if you got the extra cash, go with something better.
not great - Reviewed on 2008-04-29
I bought these for a trip down the Grand Canyon - I didn't even take them, borrowed a couple of thermarests instead. Although they are very light, they have almost no padding and I imagine they'd be useless on a rocky surface.
OK Light-weight Mat - Reviewed on 2007-12-16
I purchased the Wenzel royal blue mat as an exercise pad and for occasional camping use. It provides only moderate cushioning. As received the pad surface was a bit marred though not in a way that impairs its use. The pad surface is soft and it appears that it will be rather easily damaged. This charcoal grey mat appears to be essentially the same product at a similar price. The grey pad seems less likely to show the cosmetic marring if that is a concern to you.
These mats are a good value at a price in the range of $8 to $10. Curiously the Amazon prices have fluctuated and gradually increased from $7 to $20.

If you are looking for comfort, this sleeping pad isn't really it. It obviously does its job by giving you that extra few degrees of warmth since you are not sleeping directly on the ground. It is also extremely light, so that is good for backpackers. I had to live in a tent for about 3 months because I was working in state parks in California, so for me comfort was important. After the first night using this pad, I decided to get a different one. It felt the same as if I were just sleeping without a sleeping pad and on the ground. Only perk is that it is cheap and light weight. Obviously if you want a sleeping pad that is more comfortable, you'll have to shell out the cash..
