Editorial Review

Uh-oh, has Barbie gotten herself into hot water? Yes, literally! Our leggy friend’s latest acquisition is a party RV with built-in hot tub. Now, any time they want, Barbie and her pals (dolls not included) can call "road trip" and away they’ll go. All the comforts of, well, a luxury hotel! The big pink bus opens up on one side to reveal kitchenette with stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge, sink, cabinets, and table. The second room is a combination living room/bedroom, with a sofa that expands to become a bed, closet, bookshelves, and lots of knick-knacks (boom box, potted plant, fuzzy pink pillows, etc.). There’s also a bathroom behind the kitchen, complete with toilet (you can lift the seat), sink, shower, toilet roll, towel rack, and fabric towel. Exhausted by all these amenities? Open the outside wall of the RV to find, under a canopy, a hot tub with removable basin—you can really add water for Barbie water play! Watch the lights flash and listen to the Jacuzzi bubbling, party music blaring, horn honking, and microwave beeping. There are so many small details and knick-knacks; girls will have no problem entertaining themselves for hours at a time with Barbie’s RV. Requires three "AA" batteries (not included). --Emilie Coulter

looks neat but falls apart - Reviewed on 2008-11-03

Having grown up with the Barbie camper, I thought this was going to be great for my daughter. While she enjoys it (despite pieces coming off while she's playing), I am disappointed that it's just not made as well as it used to be. The fold-out bed, table and the door come detached all the time. While the idea is fun (had the materials been more durable), it's a big hunk of decorated thin plastic that is too tempermental to withstand any serious play.

This toy seriously ruined my daughter's 3rd Birthday! (she is very gentle with ALL of her Barbie stuff) She opened it first thing in the morning and was so excited! Before I even finished applying the stickers the thing was falling apart- THE ENTIRE THING! By noon the pieces that would not stay on were in a bag and I had to explain to my Birthday Girl that "some toys just aren't made very well". She started calling it a "mean bus". You cannot put a Barbie on the bed without it collapsing, the table would not stay up, and after an hour would not stay attched at all. Not to mention the entire table panel/ bathroom wall coming off. The side mirrors both kept falling off. Finally we removed the bed and the table. We also had problems with the entire thing staying shut while in motion. Oh, and the hot tub part is cute but the canopy is upsidedown! We'll most liekly take this back and see if Bratz has anything that compares... even though we have no Bratz dolls!

Barbie Hot Tub Party Bus Vehicle Play Set
This bus is so cool!!!!! I had the Barbie dream house and camper bus when I was a girl and they were nothing like this. Their is so much detail and so many ways to transform the bus. Of course it's plastic and reenacting the earthquake in Los Angeles will destroy the bus but regular driving and playing will not do damage. Eventually everything wears out but my guess is we get a couple good years of constant play and at this price it's well worth it. Gotta go plan Barbies house/bus warming Luau with my daughter which is worth all the money in the world.

I purchased this for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday. She enjoys playing with it very much, however, it takes a lot of patience for me because I am constantly having to reattach the pieces. I'm glad I bought it for her, though. It is very cute and has a lot of fun features.
Cool toy but falls apart too easily - Reviewed on 2008-01-30

Cool toy but falls apart too easily! my daughter likes this toy but everything falls apart. the bed falls apart, the table falls apart. does not seem to be made very durable especially for small, not so gentle hands. the 'totally real barbie house' is made the same way. i had a dream house and a motorhome from the 1970's growing up and they were made so much more durable. too bad to sold it 20 years ago. i wish toys were still made the same.
