Amazon.com Review
A perfect gift for a home chef, Füri's Rachel Ray 3-piece knife set offers a handsome presentation as well as high-quality, functional tools. The set is named after the Food Network personality and includes both a 5-inch and a 7-inch Gusto Gripo East/West knife. With features of both a cook's knife and a vegetable chopper, the two make handy all-around tools that suit everyday kitchen jobs. The German stainless-steel alloy blades are crafted without seams and have been cut very thin then hardened and tempered, so the edges start out extremely sharp, maintain their razor sharpness longer, and hold up well for years of heavy use. For exceptional maneuverability, scallops along the blades help the knives move through food without sticking, and the forged bolsters and weighty tangs provide balance and strength. The contoured red handles provide a striking finish and fit comfortably in the palm. Enclosed in a natural bamboo box with a hinged lid and slots for the knives, these tools store safely and securely when they're not working hard. Best washed by hand to protect the edges, this set comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Kara Karll

After 2 years i feel i can make an honest review - Reviewed on 2008-08-08

I think a lot of product reviews are skewed by people reviewing products too early, so i personally never review until a lot of time and use has come from a product. So, i bought these back in 06 and now that i am looking at REAL knives and cookware products i decided to look back on these ones that i had and see what people are saying about them.... and so here comes my review.
I bought these knives when i moved out of my moms house into my first studio apartment while going to college. I paid for most of the things myself.. such as skillets, brooms, bedsheets and other household goods..... and so in that process of creating my mini house i decided to get some knives.
At the time these knives where cheaper than they are now and as a first set of knives for a college kid they were great- but at the same time I also thought my T-Fal non stick skillet was amazing as well.
Now that i am redoing my kitchen gear and married with my own real home these knives have no place in my kitchen.
They have a variety of problems, one of which is ugly orange handles and they are not well balanced in comparision to a good knife.
But the worst thing of all, these knives DO RUST and i take good care of them, we sharpen them and wash them after each use and dry right away....... and still there are tiny rust dots... and a lot of rust at the metal end where it says Furi.
In terms of cutting- they are good and sharp if you sharpen them on a regular basis, but the steel is not that good because one of my knives has a chip in the blade after sharpening.
So if you have to sharpen the knives often to maintain their performance ... what is the point of getting this knife set over a cheaper one, most descent knives from major retailers will perform as well as this knife set as long as they are sharpened constantley... and you might not even have to deal with the rust issue with other brands of knives.
Overall, at teh time of the purchase, when i was a college kid, this was a good knife set, but right now i do not think of it as any better than a set from any retailer that would have been half the cost or less.....so the end consensus is that i would not make this purchase again
