When I first received this, I thought it was going to be too big for my small kitchen. However, I began using it and now it seems like a fixture on my counter. It looks attractive, is very sturdy and is nice to have a surface not just to cut and chop on, but also just to place food on while doing prep so as to not have to put the food directly on the counter. Example, I use this when I make sandwiches.

I recommend this butchers block over any cheapy plastic one. This is not super cheap, but it is a quality item.

Very nice size and a lot better than expected,It has rubber on the bottom of feet that keeps it from slipping and leaves no marks,also sits about and inch and a half up higher because of the feet on it, and is heavy .No wobble at all,if you have had cutting boards that are not to thick and kinda of small ,you will feel like you can chop wood when you get this board

I have had this board for a few weeks now and it is just awesome. The end-grain construction makes me feel good about using my new knives, the weight makes me feel confident doing any kind of chopping, and there are no signs of unusual drying or warping- even after daily use and cleaning. It looks really good and is just so soft and smooth- I'm so glad I bought this. It is around the same price as the one I was originally going to purchase from Crate and Barrel, just a little bigger, so I went with this one because I like to have a lot of room. I have only oiled it once and will probably continue to oil it every 2-3 weeks or as needed to keep it in good condition, and I'd advise the same to anyone purchasing it.
