Product Description

Constructed of 440A stainless steel, Kershaw's Ken Onion Tactical Blur folding knife features a 3-3/8-inch partially serrated Tanto blade. A lightweight anodized aluminum handle offers Trac-Tec inserts which provide a non-slip grip (even in wet and slippery conditions). Kershaw's assisted opening system, SpeedSafe, assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index-Open system. SpeedSafe's torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by accident. In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.

Really nice knife. - Reviewed on 2008-10-30

This is a really high quality knife. The assisted opening function works fantastic and is legal to carry because it is not switch activated. Amazingly sharp. Light weight but feels good in the hand.
A fun knife - not so sure about the tactical part - Reviewed on 2008-10-29

I've had my Blur for about two years now. Never used it much. It's fun but it's turning into an expensive paperweight. Here's why:

The blade is awfully thin. This is the nature of a Kershaw Ken Onion design. I thought I would get used to it. Turns out I worry about the thin blade so much that the knife sits unused. Maybe I worry too much and the Blur can survive twisting and bending in cardboard.

The black coating makes this less useful. The tanto tip also. This is not a steak knife replacement, for example. Office use is also kind of strange with a black tactical knife.

The liner-lock feels sturdy and I've been told is a good execution of the design. But it's just not as sexy as an Arc lock.

The blade is a little short for a fighter. This might turn into a plus for a new knife owner. It's a lot less intimidating for the user. And being familiar with a knife goes very far toward making it useful.

Now the fun part. This is absolutely the most fun one-hand-opening knife I own. The Blur is lightening fast. The slight click just sounds good. I would call this knife addictive, just sitting there opening and closing one-handed.

I would recommend this knife if you're collecting knives for their entertainment value.

I've always been a fan of Kershaw for its American durability and craftsmanship. Their quality control is amazing. The key factor that always leads me to Kershaw is the speed safe technology which allows the quick opening of the blade. No other patented knife can do this. I will always be a loyal fan of the Kershaw knifes.

I've had this knife for 5 months. If I lost it, I'd buy another.

The Tactical Blur is a well-balanced and attractive knife made with high-quality materials and workmanship. The blade stays sharp, even after I cut a bunch of cardboard with it, and the action is smooth and reliable.

I was at first a little worried that the abrasive coating on the grip would be hard on my pockets, but even my linen shorts show no extra pocket wear and the coating adds significantly to the safety of the knife.

The clip is tight and there is little chance this knife will slip out of your pocket. The action is one-hand opening and with a little practice can be closed one-handed as well.

I have some training in self-defense with a knife as well. I put the Tactical Blur through the paces. The tight clip makes it a little slow on the draw, but not too bad. The grip is very steady in the standard hold, but a little clumsy in the reverse grip.

A word of warning: If you loan the knife to someone, be sure to warn them not to try to open it with two hands. This knife is designed for one-handed opening only.

A fantastic general use knife for the money.

I bought this after I saw someone with one. I really like the fast opening action. The grip on this model has a sand paper like handle which makes it almost impossible to slip from your hands--although it may scratch anything that rubs against it; so don't keep it in your pocket with your expensive cell phone.
