Nice to see - Reviewed on 2008-09-15

One of the founding members of this band is and has been one of my best friends for over 20 years. I sat in the warehouse and watched this band develop itself before coming out in Fla back in 89. I have always had a rather biased opinion about this band, especially the early stuff. Thought they were the most ripped off band ever. Years ahead of thier time. It is nice to see people agree. Bieler can play as well as ANYONE! Trust me because he is not my friend and I still have that opinion. I love non rock fans that get this because of "Love is on the Way". Cracks me up. Truly for hard rockers.
A few hits and a lot of misses... - Reviewed on 2008-07-15

I bought this album years ago because I liked the song "Love is on the Way." There are definitely a few positive moments besides that song. At several high points, Saigon Kick sounds somewhat like Guns N' Roses. There are a few short instrumental tracks that are interesting. The last song, "Chanel," is a lot of fun, if almost out of place on this album. And "Love is on the Way" is a great song from an era of power ballads and hair that was way too long.

Unfortunately, the majority of this album is just noise, full of screaming, anger, and profanity. I'm not any huge fan of this genre of music, but there are bands of this type that I do appreciate. Frankly, I think this is a rather mediocre offering. I'm probably not alone in wishing that I could select out the few songs that I enjoy from this album and discard the rest.
Not Great But A Good CD - Reviewed on 2007-12-01

Saigon Kick has alot of good songs. Most of there songs are really deep and alot of people don't get the message they are trying to give. Some of the songs are weird like "My Dog" but there are good songs on here like the opening track "Crelty". There are other good songs like "Freedom" and there biggest hit on this CD. "Love Is On The Way". I would pick this one up.
Very good, very diverse rock from a talented band... - Reviewed on 2007-04-22

I remember getting this album when it first came out; I, like many others, liked the single Love Is On The Way and went out and bought it. I was pleasantly surprised when I listened and heard some great and very diverse music. As I remember, Saigon Kick was often put in with the "alternative" bands at that time. While having music that can range from dark to light, heavy to soft - the album is pure rock. Matt Kramer is a very good singer, Jason Bieler is an overlooked guitarist and fine singer in his own right and Tom DeFile(bass) and Phil Varone(drums) provide a solid, sometimes spectacular, bottom end.

Song Highlights include: Feel The Same Way, God Of 42nd Street, Love Is On The Way, All I Want, Body Bags and Miss Jones.

The Lizard delivers great songs with varying styles, and great musicianship. If you like rock that is not "processed" or "cookie cutter", you should like this album.

To the reviewer who loved this band and wanted new music from them: I know some of the remaining members (although, sorry I don't know which ones) are members of a band called "SuperTransAtlantic". They had some moderate success and even have a track on the original "American Pie" soundtrack.
