There is no female that can bring it like Linda Jones.She is the true soul sister no. 1.

I am a fan of Linda Jones and was very pleased with this CD.. It has a great variety of my favorite hits and I have obtained new songs to love as well..

This was a blast from the past- I never thought I'd find this.
The ONLY negative I have about this CD is the fact the titles were listed in the wrong order- they didn't match the list provided on the jacket.
However, I put the CD on, and floated back to the 70's. She was an awesome vocal talent. Just listening to her renditions of "For Your Precious Love", and "Not On The Outside", were worth the hunt. Fantastic!!!

Despite the (alleged) prestige of including a David Nathan essay, "The Greatest Hits" is a disappointing compilation of the late R&B/Soul singer's work.

First, the track listing (both on the back cover and booklet) is incorrect; there are 21 tracks, but they are completely different order than what the track listing reads. As seen below, it turns out that the tracks are arranged on the disc in alphabetical order.

The recording dates are not provided in the booklet (nor is any other information - producer, album, chart positions - other than songwriter credits), other than the partial information provided within the text of the essay. And if that is not enuff, despite being "remastered", the sound quality is less than stellar.

I picked up the LOMA anthology and had to find more Linda Jones - this is a great program of tunes but the packaging is cheap, up to and including the songs being listed on the outer and inner cover out of order - not just a few slip-ups, it's like the thing is on shuffle-play. Maybe it's just my copy (and no - it's not my player), but once I got past this I was able to just concentrate on an incedible but - sadly - lost talent.
