nifty little machine for the most part - Reviewed on 2008-02-16
I'm really happy with this. It is quick and easy to make one or two small cups. My only real complaint is the quality of the coffee in the pods. It's decent, but not as good as buying fresh beans or ground coffee, and the pods cost twice as much as bulk coffee. (One cool thing is that the coffee is strong and has a notable froth, similar to a real espresso). I use mine in the office, where even with the high-priced pods I still save compared to buying brewed coffee outside. I've also found that I can throw in tea bags and make a quick, strong cup of tea (no froth, there, though!).
I knew the coffee was expensive when I bought the unit, but I also knew about an aftermarket product that allows you to bypass the pods and use your own ground coffee. To my chagrin, when I bought that product, it did not fit this particular model! (I suspect that Philips/Senseo is staying a step ahead of them!)
Overall, I like it - Reviewed on 2007-08-29

I am actually quite fond of using this machine every morning. I make myself one everyday... but I do have some criticisms. I have to use 2 pods each time, making an average sized amount of coffee, certainly not enough to fill a travel mug. This is definitely going to be pricier than your average coffee maker.
The unit is noisy. This really isn't a huge deal, as it's not loud enough to wake anyone, but wow, it really does vibrate when it starts to dispense.
The coffee is hot, but it is not as hot as I would like, considering when I add cream, it is really not hot enough to sustain true hotness. I've had to microwave my coffee immediately after brewing it, because my cream was too cold and I added too much.
They do sell reusable pods, and I think this fact will be the saving grace of this machine... I hope to overcome the cost of the rapid pod usage this way.
The best part of this machine is that it is quick. I have a cup of coffee ready for me in under 2 minutes. Cleanup is extra easy, especially since there are not a lot of parts. I'm not wasting leftover coffee anymore... although I do admit I wish I could brew just a bit more at once.
