Super Fun Game!!! - Reviewed on 2006-12-30

My 7 yr. old son absolutely loves pokemon cards and "battling" with them. I really don't enjoy playing the card game with him, so I purchased this game for him for Christmas hoping it would be something I'd enjoy playing with him. We played it yesterday for the first time and I LOVE IT!!!! We had to play with the directions out next to us for the first few moves. But, we all caught on quickly and had lots of laughs. It also moves quickly....which is nice for a family with 3 young children. I/We look forward to playing the game again and highly recommend it for any family with pokemon crazed kids! Enjoy!!!

We purchased this game a few weeks ago because our [...] son is a huge Pokemon fan. We love that there is a Pokemon game that gets the whole family involved and keeps the electronic version and videos off for awhile! Our [...] daughter is entertained enough with all the characters and battles that she'll stick with the game all the way through the end. The game is easy enough that our son can play it with friends he has over, but interesting enough that we enjoy playing it with the kids, too. I highly recommend it for Pokemon fans and newbies alike!

My 8 year old says: "It is fun and sure to be a blast!" He loves the fact that all the Pokemon are represented in the game. He and his friends actually quit playing the video versions of Pokemon to play this board game. Game play is interesting enough for adults, too, and easy to understand even if you are a Pokemon neophyte. If you are, the kids are sure to fill you in on all the details.

First off, you need not know anything about Pokemon to play this game; you just need a little luck and basic addition skills (the ability to add single digit numbers and distinguish between a higher and lower number).

My 5 year-old son loves anything Pokemon and got this game for Christmas. It has been enjoyed by friends his age, my 24 year-old sister and her boyfriend, my 13 year-old female cousin and even my 75 year-old grandma! Everyone always comments on how "different" it is.

We play a lot of board games and I think this one is very unique, which is one of the reasons I like it so much. It's also very interactive between players and I am always amazed at how quickly my son can add up the "battle points" in his head. There are tons of pokemon cards (like 180 or something?) and he loves looking through those even when not playing the actual board game.

He and I play one-on-one a lot, and we have also pulled out his Pokemon figures and played wth more than four people, although room around the board was a little tight.

Overall, I really love this game. It has easily become a favorite of the entire family.

This is a fun game that even an 11 year old and a 6 year old can play together. The cards are fun to look at and game play varies enough for the older child not to be bored.
