Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Product Description

Not only does a swing like this let you take Baby's favorite soother wherever you go, it also lets you take an "aquarium" along! The swinging motion makes the fishies in the colorful tanks look like they're swimming. Baby is instantly soothed by watching fishy friends in an aquarium and by the eight different swing speeds. When Baby pulls on one of the hanging sea creatures, he's rewarded with classical music, aquatic sound effects and "dancing" lights. Parents will love how this swing is portable and compact, with a convenient handle that lets you safely carry it from room to room. Swing also features deep cradle seat, non-slip feet, and machine-washable pad. It also folds up compactly for easy storage or travel.

For babies up to 25 pounds. Requires 4 "C" alkaline batteries, not included.

Editorial Review

Swing and sway among tropical fishies! Babies will be soothed and amused by this comfy portable swing. A deep-sea blue seat pad with underwater theme cushions Baby while eight varying swing speeds keep her pleasantly jiggled, and colorful aquarium "tanks" entertain her with swimming fish. The swing features baby- or mom-activated twinkling lights and music, two fish tanks on the side arms, classical music (six selections) and bubbly aquatic sound effects with volume control, three-position handle, deep reclining seat, machine washable seat pad, hanging toys and soft toy in pocket, and a non-slip base (still, don’t leave your baby unattended!). Four C alkaline batteries required (not included). Discontinue use when baby reaches 25 pounds or can sit upright unassisted. --Emilie Coulter

Fine for a newborn but NOT older babies - Reviewed on 2008-05-28

This is a nice enough product only if you use it for a newborn.

It is not a safe product once your child can sit up on their own (and then reach forward between the arm of the swing and the stationary parts. I felt the first speed of the swing was too fast for a newborn but now that my son is two months old I feel it works although I admit I rarely use it. I do not consider it a protable swing as it is very heavy and bulky and takes up a great deal of room in my trunk.

What I like about it is how it cradles the baby in a natural way, like you would if you were holding him. It is the only thing my kids would be happy in as small babies when I couldn't hold them. The lights and music are very nice and do distract a baby, I was surprised because I didn't think the water and little fish on the sides of the swing would interest a baby but they really do capture their attention. I felt it was quieter than their previous models.

Safety features I would like to see here:
- 5 point harness
- a way to swing without the danger of trapping an arm

Overall I am glad I bought this but I wouldn't recommend it at the price it sells for, I would suggest you look elsewhere for a swing that will last your baby longer and be safer.

This is an awesome swing. Both grandmas love it and want one for themselves for whenever baby visits. We got this as a gift from an experienced mom who guaranteed we'd love it as much as her son did, and boy, was she right! If you have a colicky baby that likes to be swayed, this is the perfect thing! The music and gentle swaying rocks the baby to sleep. Our daughter loved it ever since we put her in it. If we leave home without it, she is miserable. She often sleeps in this swing before we move her to her crib. We tried putting her to sleep in a playpen and she will cry. We do not leave home without it. In fact, I bought an additional one for Grandma to have when the baby visits. It is small enough to pack in a car but we have the stroller and diaper bags to deal with already.
This swing allows the baby to change the music at the pull of a handle. Plus, the bright colors of the lights and toys catch their attention. My baby was already pulling on the chain at 2 1/2 months and loves looking at the lights. I believe this swing stimulates the brain of babies with its colors and lights.
As for now, we put the swing on the first speed setting (it has a total of 8 settings) since she is too young for the faster setting which might make her nauseous. It is a very quiet swing, and most swings do not swing themselves like this one. It has a volume control for the lullabies if you're trying to watch TV while the baby's listening to its music. This is a very sturdy swing, and best of all, the pad is removable for easy machine washing. It is very fun and durable. The pad has not faded even though we constantly wash it. The batteries last us for about 1/2-2 months even though we use them every day for hours!
The only thing I wish they would improve on is the fact that it sits so low to the ground. In case you did not know this, the temperature of the floor is lower than the average room temperature, especially if you have tile, so the baby might get chilly. I recommend putting a blanket unless you have carpet which should keep the seat warm. It would also make it easier on people who have back or knee problems so they would not have to bend so much. I had a hard time bending to pick up my daughter or put her in right after my c-section since I could not bend for a while. But I do think this is one of the best swings out there, it's gentle enough for colicky babies that need to sit up to pass gas or babies that have a hard time falling asleep without some rocking motion. It is easy to fold and go. Sure beats sticking the baby for a car ride if it needs some kind of motion in order to get it to fall asleep!

this is the best swing... perfect for granny's house.. and he still sits it in at 9mo old! of course cause he is so heavy i hand rock him to sleep.. thats not a big deal but its the best swing to take with u or keep at the other family members house, u can not go wrong with this buy.. baby number 2 is due and we'll use it again... no problems here other then its an open top and u have to move the toy (above the infant) before removing the infant.. other then that its a great SWING..

- works great nice fold up for storage.. and over all the older model is a great buy and we bought it at TOY R US on SALE at the time along with a play yard... i really enjoy thats it sits closer to the ground and that the baby is at a safe level...

I got the older version & I purchased mine at a children's resale shop --highly recommend since when I bought mine it was $60 in the store & I paid $26 & it works and looks new. Anyways, it is great -I leave it in the car all the time so it is ready to come out at Grandma's or anywhere else. I have a Dodge Caravan with the stow and go and it actually fits in the storage bin under the floor of my van it is so compact. Everywhere I take it people are amazed by it & say they wish they had one when raising their kids.
