After dealing with a bit of skepticism, having read the review by the good Dr. Bradt, I ordered the Turning Tools and truly made the correct call. These are all that one could expect, after all they are Robert Sorby tools, well known for quality. My experience is very positive and with satisfaction. The price is fair, the quality is built into each tool, delivery was ahead of schedule and that adds up to "a satisfied customer". These are truly great tools. Perhaps one obtained a "bad batch" or something. A five star rating is "earned".

This is the third item I purchased from Grizzly and all turned out to be JUNK. This set of tools is no exception: they are not the standard Sorby tools that are listed, but a short light weight version of same. Grizzly ripped me off for $42.00 ("re-stocking" charges and grossly overpriced shipping)to look at these overrated weed diggers and they took 3 weeks to credit my credit card after numerous requests. Amazon should dump Grizzly and you do business with them at your peril.

I recently purchased this set of tools from Amazon/Grizzly Tools. I wished they qualified for Free Shipping. They arrived about 3 days after ordering via UPS. They arrived in perfect condition, packed completely in shipping peanuts. This set offers 6 tools that you need for turning. I compared prices from stores and online stores. This kit is about $110 cheaper than my local woodworking store. (I purchased the set for $179.) I have turned several things using these tools and have been very pleased. The HSS (High Speed Steel) used is of excellent quality. Two of the handles are longer than the others. All tools are solid and well balanced. I had an email confirmation from Grizzly once they had received the order. I think you will be very pleased if you purchase this set.

I am new to turning and have bought into the Sorby hype. These are really nice tools at a really good price. They feel good in your hands and the HSS really holds an edge. I have heard that any HSS tool out of Sheffield England is pretty much the same and that you pay more for the Sorby name, but 6 essential tools for $180 seems like a good price to me.
