Didn't even know Freddie had it in him. I thought he was all slow jams and no grooves. I was severely wrong! This is one of the baddest albums from 1982 I never heard until 2008. I even caught one of the tracks that was sampled which made me like this CD even more because it was one of my favorite hip hop joints. This album consists of mostly uptempo cuts, and are all funky as toejam with basslines that will make you get that "ugly" face! THAT'S FUNK! Sound quality is superb and is blessed with pics and liner notes giving you some light about the band. Why was this original release not a much bigger one and these guys aren't a household name? My guess is too many reasons to tell, but who knows. It's here now, and that's all that matters. If you can, pick up a copy today and hea, eh, feel what I'm writing about. BTW, I hear that their first album's better than this one... WHERE IS IT! Please find that master tape and let's feel it, too!
'Mr. Magician' stands for it..... - Reviewed on 2005-08-04

This album is mainly sought after for the 'rare groove' song 'Mr. Magician'. A "funtastic" track. This album has a very Eighties vibe going on. All bar one track are uptempo and seem almost like a snapshot in time, musically. Freddie Jackson left the group shortly after this set was released and the rest is history. This is a nice album and highly recommended.
