I should have bought this long ago, but didn't realize just how much fat would be eliminated from the drippings and broth. I finally decided to try it after reading the reviews in Cooks Illustrated. The Trudeau 991105 is very easy to use and made my gravy much healthier. I tried hand washing the separator, but found it much easier and cleaner to run it through the dishwasher. Works great!

I love the Trudeau Gravy/Fat Separator. I like that it withstands heat from the HOT juices and washes beautifully in the dishwasher. It's supposed to be microwave safe, but I haven't tried that yet. In the past, I naively assumed that fat separators were meant to handle hot liquids--the separators cracked from the heat. The shape, size, and strainer on this Separator are terrific. I've given them as Christmas presents. I cook a lot and love kitchen gadgets--the Trudeau is truly a winner.

For years I've tried to separate fat from drippings before I heard about this fat separator. When I saw it, I wasn't sure but it works really great!!! Nice looking and easy to use.

Large enough for sifting juices after cooking a large pot roast. Easy to clean; dishwasher safe.
