Diastolic okay, systolic not consisten - Reviewed on 2007-11-01

This is a convenient monitor, and seems to track well with a professional reading on the diastolic (lower) number, but is wildly inconsistent on the systolic (higher) reading.

This is probably a limitation of using a wrist monitor, but with a 30 mm/Hg difference between what the monitor shows and what my doctor gets, it's pretty much useless for regular monitoring.

Consider the Omron HEM-711 (upper-arm cuff, brachial sensor) or similar alternatives.

I believe that it has been redesign. Now it's rectangular with buttons on the top frame (Clock) and large ones: memory (2x50 memories, up from 2x30) and on/off on the bottom of face that are easily pressed when removed from storage case and put on wrist, sometimes multiple times, turning unit on and resetting clock. It's not ergonomic at all, however fairly easy to use. I did not compared readings to manual instrument, but it seems to be fair either. It is hard to predict how long it will last. Made in China of course.

I am 100 % satisfied with the
Lumiscope 1140 Digital Wrist Blood Pressue Monitor. # 1 it is so easy to use. It is compact and has features that were not present on the regular cuff pressure monitor. It gives you an
average after three readings. There is also a date and timer on the screen. I love it!

I am pleased with this product. It works as well or better than the one you put on your amm and it much, much easier to use.

as a doc, this is by far the most accurate electronic cuff i've used, but it still is inaccurate by around 10 pts. in both systole and diastole (top and bottom numbers). For the above reviewer, here is how to adjust the time/date:

1)While Blood pressure monitor is turned on, press and hold the time-setting key (key with L) for 3 seconds until the date/time disappears. Once you release the key, the display will show a blinking number showing the year.

2)Change the year using the Memory (+) button or the Recall (-) button. Press the time-setting key (L button) again to confirm the entry, and the screen will show a blinking number representing the month.

3) Change the month, the date, and the time as described in Step 2 above, using the Memory (+) or the recall (-) Keys to change and the Time-Setting Key (L button) to confirm the entries.

4) A "0" will reappear as the Blood Pressure Monitor is ready for measurement again.

Hope this helps!
