I have medium length hair that needs some extra TLC to look its best. My hair stylist recommended a flat iron with cermaic plates (less damaging to hair) to calm the cuticles of my hair. It really works!

It's good for the price and I always thought it worked very well. However, upon trying a more expensive iron of my friend's (Chi 1"), I realized that you get what you pay for. Although it works, it does not straighten as well as some other irons. You will have to spend more time on your hair, especially if your hair's naturally wavy like mine.

If you want something faster and that will leave your hair silkier, invest a little more.

I've had this flat iron for almost a year now, and it is still working great. I use it at heat level 20 (it goes up to 25), and it heats up in about a minute or so. I have VERY dry, coarse, frizzy hair, but it straightens it right out with minimal work, and if I don't go crazy partying, it will stay pretty straight for a few days.

Although I know I'm not supposed to, I even use this flat iron to dry my hair dead straight after I wash it. Of course, I steam my hair every 2 weeks as a STRICT rule, and use a lot of moisturiser whenever I put this amount heat in my hair, but still, my hair has actually been falling out a lot less than when I used to use curlers and a bonnet dryer.

I have read some bad reviews about the longevity of this product, but it has been good to me, and should be good to you, once you take care of it.

I've had this flat iron for about 8 months. I only use it three or four times a week. It worked really well the first 6 months, but lately it doesn't seem to get as hot as it used to. Now it takes quite an effort to get my hair completely smooth (my hair is already stick straight, but gets lots of flyaways). My hairstylist uses the Chi and every time I go in to get my hair done I walk out with perfectly smooth hair - and it only takes him a couple of swipes with the Chi. The Revlon used to be that easy, but now I have to go over and over and over each section of hair in order to get decent results. I wouldn't recommend the Revlon for long-term use. It doesn't seem to hold up.

I bought this as gift for my sis and she threw it away as it didn't work after 3 months from purchase date. Untill then it was awesome and so i rate it 3 star
