Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Album Description

The upcoming album is not only catchy "can’t-get-it-out-of-your-head " tracks, like the single, "So Far So Good", but this record is a deep account with many songs based from singer Ian Thornley’s personal life. Aside from this fans will hear famed "Big Wreck" former head Ian Thornley, at his best from harder riffs, like the track, "Falling to Pieces" to the slow and melodic rhythm of, "Lies That I Believe."

So far, So good....and it is that good. - Reviewed on 2007-03-15

I heard the song "So far, So good" through a Canadian station (I live in Erie, PA and am lucky to get it sometimes....some American stations can't get stuff like this) and thought it was Audioslave or a Chris Cornell project because I would swear that it was the same guy. Needless to say it isn't. Ian Thornley's vocals are similar and the sound in their bands are almost the same....but they are definitely 2 different players. I like this and "So far, So good" is one of those songs that you sit down and listen to it and you kinda connect with it. The songs are totally original. Why he went from Big Wreck (his prior band.....and also great material) to Thornley I have no idea....unless it was just a name change or something like that. But still.....this is a good album to listen to. It's not like Creed or Nickleback or any of the new rock bands out there. Bands like Thornley are truely unique in their own right and deserve that recognition.

I found Thornley before I heard of Big Wreck. Listening to Ian's former band, I heard great potential - good musicianship, catchy songs, and probably the best rock vocalist since Chris Cornell. I've fallen in love with Big Wreck since, but notice that they had a tendency toward long, drawn out, and often over produced songs - several verging on forgettable.

Not so with this album. Ian Thornley basically cut the fat, made melody king, and pushed his shockingly unique and versatile voice to the front of the mix. Most of the album pushes into post-grunge with some slow, plodding grooves, but the riffs and melodies are fresh and exciting - if lacking the sprawling arrangements of Big Wreck.

I disagree with other reviewers who say this is a step backwards for Ian Thornley. This album reflects an artist who has capitalized on his strengths, and minimized his weaknesses. Above all, it showcases a great guitar player, solid songwriting, and a voice that you simply can't get enough of. Bring on the sophomore release!

Recommended for fans of: Soundgarden, King's X, Earthshine, Audioslave, STP, and Brother Cane.

More hard hitting than BW, but still has the flavor..A very well recorded CD that I play from start to finish.. I enjoy all the tracks ! I do a lot of studio work and when I'm setting up I often play the CD as a reference and test channels and tracks in my studio ,because it's a great CD and I enjoy listening to it.. I have seen him live twice and look foreward to see them again, the live show is also high quality and will not disapoint you, they do deliver the goods.. Thornley is one of my favorite artists, and I'm at a loss as to why they are not bigger and more widely received. Anyway it is a super "rock you" Cd, Lyrics I can understand and relate to, great voice and music to match... Buy it you will like it!! .. Chris
Great rocking album - Reviewed on 2006-04-15

Much better than Big Wreck's second album, not as good as their first, Thornley's solo CD has a lot of excellent songs. Straight-ahead rockers, a couple mellower tunes, all of them excellent songwriting.
