Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Album Description

As soon as fans hear "COLLIDE", the Lava Records debut from SKILLET, they will know that singer and bassist John Cooper is true to his word. From the scorching hard rock songs like "Forsaken", "Savior", "My Obsession" and "Cycle Down", to the soaring ballad "A Little More", Skillet is ready to bring their awesome energy to a whole new audience. The four-piece rock band, led by Cooper, has toured relentlessly since they formed in the late 90s. Fueled by a love of hard rock and pop melodies, Skillet released several albums independently, and driven by their faith in the music, began to make an impact drawing huge crowds across America.

A great message in great music - Reviewed on 2008-09-23

This is the second time I have owned this album. I had bought their other cd, Comatose, and after spending some overseas, (military) I decided I really needed this album again. This band has a positive message, rolled into hard rock that will impact your life. When I first owned this album, I was struggling with a lot of personal inner demons. This cd helped me through those times. That is why I felt the need to have it again. I came on hard times, once again, and it has done the same again. I don't want to tell my whole life story, but as for the music, this cd rocks. Any parents having questions about wether you should worry if you find this cd in your kids rooms, don't. The music is hard rock, and kind of heavy at times, but that all helps with the message they are trying to drive home. It is all positive, christian rock that will help anyone through life's problems. It talks about Jesus Christ (Savior) and a lot of other issues we all deal with in life. Strongly recommended, as well as their cd Comatose, but the latter is not as heavy, but has just as positive messages for life. I recommend this to people who are believers who need a pick me up through the hard times this life has to offer. Keep it up, Skillet!!! God Bless!!!
Very good......and not just for Christian fans - Reviewed on 2008-04-17

No matter what your beliefs, this is a really good CD. An example of a band who keeps getting better, and the production is much improved on the CD which certainly adds to the bands strength. I'd also recomend new Fozzy with the WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, All THat Remains Reloaded as well for fans fo the genre

Skillet is one of my favorite bands, but this is by far the best cd that they or any other christian rock or metal artist has ever made! I don't know if I like Savior, Forsaken, Collide, My Obsession, or Energy any more than the other. Way to rock out and praise Jesus at the same time, guys!

Ok. If you're one of those people who loves Skillet because of their singles "Rebirthing" and "The Last Night" and don't really enjoy hard rock (a.k.a. Seventh Day Slumber, Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless etc.) you probably are better off enjoying a few of the softer songs on "Comatose" and moving on. If, however, you were introduced by the popular singles (like I was) and went on to love their more obscure works like "Whispers in the Dark" and "Falling Inside the Black" you will really enjoy this CD. No mistake though, Skillet was a lot different a few years ago. Stripped away from the symphonic beauty and the heavy yet shiny production, we are left with a raw and much edgier Skillet. Songs range from highly colorful "Collide" to just plain raw ("Savior" is one of the BEST rock songs I've heard.)
Overall:
If you love Skillet regardless and want to hear more incredible rock... Go for this and be BLOWN AWAY by true and honest rock with a passionate heart for Jesus Christ.
