The Marshal Thundering Dallas Cowboys!!!! - Reviewed on 2006-02-17
I love this game. I bought an Xbox a while back for something to do. I bought a bunch of games and one was NCAA Football. Well, I must say I have played a couple of the other games but I am obsessed by this game and I haven't even opened most of the others cause I play this game all the time. One of the best features is (besides that it doesn't have the crappy music of Maddens football games "I WANNA BE A' BACKER..." god that song makes me want to puke)that you can create your own players down to the size, shape, strength, equipment and names. Most of the time the computer recognizes the names and the announcer will use them. Well, being a Dallas Cowboy fan and from WV, I turned the Marshal Thundering Herd into the '66 - '70 Dallas Cowboys. From Pete Gent of North Dallas Forty Fame to Dandy Don Meredith and all through out the roster the Cowboys are back. I also created a nemesis team of The West Virginia Mountaineers with Joe Namath as the QB and an all star crew of players like Alex Karras on Defense.
This game is really good, easy to learn and as your skill level increases so does the competition. Just like the real thing some of the teams are jabrones and some are great. But its fun to play all of them. Also you can tell when its a game that is a test to the next level cause that is when the other team comes on like gangbusters and you get every crappy call, fumble, penalty, and they hit passes and do things that in regular games they don't. But you have to step up to the plate and absorb all of this and keep plugging away. Even in a tough loss sometimes they will reward you.
Its a fun game. Go Herd...er Cowboys!
