Just add wheels - Reviewed on 2008-11-29

A contractor used my compressor to frame my garage because his compressor kept flipping the circuit breaker. It kept up with him at all times using 200 feet of hose, with some leaky connectors. He never had to wait for air. The unit runs quietly. I have been comparing compressors for 6 months and to me this has always been the best compressor for the money.

It needs good wheels and a handle to be more portable.
Great Compressor - You Won't be Disappointed - Reviewed on 2008-11-23

After reading the reviews on several compressors, I ordered this one around 3:00PM and it was delivered about 9:30AM the following morning, using Prime next day delivery.

As stated in many other reviews, this is a well-designed and well-built compressor, and it is heavy. I expect this compressor to last me many years.

The required compressor oil was included and the instructions for the short break-in process were clear and concise.

The compressor was immediately put into service to build a storage shed. It worked exactly like you would want a compressor to work, plus it is quiet (very quiet for a compressor) and ran my nail guns as expected. I've had it run on several of my electrical circuits (15 and 20 Amp) and haven't had a breaker pop once.
Quiet! - Reviewed on 2008-11-06

Number one, this is the first QUIET compressor I have ever owned! I have yet to run power tools off of it, but so far operating my hydraulic lift and airing up the tires it is performing very well. It takes very little time to get up to 120 lbs. operating pressure. It has it own air filter and separate oil supply. This is a GOOD thing! The el cheapo compressors that don't require oil are a disaster waiting to happen. That oil will go somewhere and you can't replace it. Guess what? You've got one seized compressor. If I were in the trades and needed a compressor all the time, I would probably buy a gas motor compressor but for occasional light to medium tool use, operating a lift and inflation duties, this is a really good compressor.
Packaging Improved 10-08 - Reviewed on 2008-11-04

Even after reading everyone's helpful reviews, some of which mentioned shipping damage,I decided to roll the dice and order this compressor.I am happy to report that it arrived in fine shape! Judging from descriptions of packaging problems others have given,I'm guessing that Makita has improved their "boxing".The air filter cover was held safely in place by a piece of cardboard, and everything else was fine. Thanks to all of you that took the time to review.

Bought the Makita MAC2400 compressor after my Campbell Hausfield pancake compressor stopped working. This compressor is solidly built and relatively quiet. It's much, much quieter than the pancake. There's a lot of steel and almost no plastic on this product -- that's rare these days. It's heavy -- you definitely wouldn't want to carry this around on a daily basis. I've had it for a couple of weeks and it has been great -- no problem with a framing nailer. Would buy it again.
