With its smooth lines and gleaming finish, this Cuisinart Stratford flatware set is the kind of collection you can reach for every day or on special occasions. Each piece features a tapered handle that finishes in a broad rounded end. A smooth border line running the length of the handle emphasizes its curvy ease. The set is crafted with long tines, broad bowls, and continental sizing overall. It is made from heavyweight 18/10 stainless steel with 18 percent chrome for corrosion resistance and 10 percent nickel for luster. Highly durable and comfortable in the hand, Stratford pieces are also safe in the dishwasher.

With 45 pieces in all, this set includes complete place settings for eight, each with a 9-3/8-inch dinner knife, an 8-1/4-inch dinner fork, a 7-1/4-inch salad fork, an 8-1/4-inch soup spoon, and a 6-1/4-inch teaspoon. Additional service pieces round out the set. They include a cold meat fork, a tablespoon, a pierced tablespoon, a sugar spoon, and a butter knife. Very happy with my Stratford! - Reviewed on 2009-04-05

Since I've never had the "original" version of this particular pattern, I don't identify with the bad reviews posted here and have always been very happy with my set. They have a pleasing weight and a lovely, modern, elegant style. I found a setting for four at my local discount housewares store (Homesense here in Canada; aka T.J. Maxx or Marshall's for those south of the 49th parallel--same parent company) and have been looking for more settings ever since. It's been my bad luck that the Stratford pattern seems to be discontinued at most physical and web-based retailers. Now I am eagerly awaiting a full set from a seller I found here on Amazon. Can't wait!

I was hesitant to purchase this set when I saw some negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised that this flatware set is nice! It has a nice weight and a classic look. I am enjoying!

The previous reviewer had it right, the new stuff is made in China and it's pretty cheesy. I needed extra pieces for the set I purchased some time ago. My original set was the heavy guage higher quality stuff made in Korea. This stuff isn't worth the postage: it's smaller, flimsier and doesn't even match the pattern. Fuggedaboudit...

This latest version of Cuisinart's "Oxford" pattern, made in China, is far inferior to their earlier product in the same pattern. It's lighter, less solid feeling, less well made, with lots of minor flaws in the manufacturing. It's ok for the kitchen, but I would never use it for anything else. I feel sure it will not hold up well, will scratch more easily and look worn very quickly. Very disappointing, and not worth the price. -- B. Took
