Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Amazon.com Review

Ideal for the novice chef who doesn't want to spend a fortune but still wants performance from cookware, this Farberware Cuisine 3-quart saucepan is a kitchen essential. Like all saucepans, it's a trusty cookware sidekick, content to boil water, simmer sauces, reheat leftovers, or handle any other small cooking task. The key to its efficiency is an 18/10 stainless-steel exterior that surrounds an aluminum "full cap" base, ensuring quick and even heat distribution throughout the pan. In addition, the reflective surface is nonreactive, so it won't stain when exposed to acidic foods such as tomatoes or lemons.

As with other Cuisine cookware, the pan's rims are rolled for extra durability, while also reducing the risk of spilled sauces when pouring from the sides. Complementing the saucepan is a tight-fitting stainless lid that seals in flavors and nutrients while cooking or simmering, making your sauces all the more flavorful. The pan also features a lightweight stainless handle that stays cool on the stovetop and is oven-safe to 500 degrees F. The pan is dishwasher-safe and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Rivers Janssen

Perfect for no-knead, slow-rise bread - Reviewed on 2008-04-24

For time and convenience, I wanted to experiment with slow rise, no knead bread (See Mark Bittman's column at the New York Times). This and similar recipes call for preheating the pan and baking temps of 450-500 degrees, which is hotter than most pans are warrantied for (including enameled cast iron). It's a heavier gauge stainless steel than I'm used to seeing, solid and substantial in feel, but much lighter than cast iron (a real plus for me). And equally good, it is built for temperatures up to 500 degrees.

This pan worked perfectly for the bread, which popped out as easily as if it had a no-stick coating (which it doesn't!). And because of its height, it creates a taller rather than a flatter loaf, which I like as well. I'm online now to buy another one so I can bake double batches. This is proving to be a wonderful investment!

Very pleased to receive this pot and see that it's beautiful in appearance and sufficiently heavy in construction. Now that I've cooked with it, I see that it truly is a quality item.

This is a great pot. Not too big, not too small. This is 3rd one I have bought. One for myself and one for each of my children. I use it all the time. Nice weight. Cleans up great. Handles stay cool. Highly recommend it especially for the price.
