HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - STAY AWAY FROM COLEMAN! - Reviewed on 2007-11-08

I purchased a Coleman rechargeable quick pump along with a Coleman inflatable air mattress for use when guests visit. Normally I would only review the product under the relevant Amazon page, but I feel this review is relevant to all Coleman products as it relates to their customer service policies.

After using the Coleman rechargeable pump two times, it died. It won't recharge; it won't even turn-on.

When I called Coleman to ask about warranty information for the pump, they responded with "We don't actually make that pump, we just put our name on it so we can't help you," and then they hung-up the phone!
I called them back right away, and got them to give me the number of the company that does manufacture the pump and when I called it, it was a disconnected phone number! Coleman does not appear to care at all about the quality of their products or the concept of customer service. I will NEVER buy another Coleman product again. I understand that products break from time to time and that can be forgiven, but no company should treat their customers this way.

I urge everybody who is considering the purchase of any Coleman products to boycott this horrible firm. By their own admission, they don't even make the products, they just pass them off to consumers. You deserve better than Coleman!!!

great for inflatable things.. beach balls, mattresess.. etc..
good emergency tire inflator - but don't expect to use this on a regular basis.. takes about 25-30min to fill a 35" tire to 40lbs.
Sorry, folks - it won;t inflate tires! - Reviewed on 2006-07-24

I bought the 12V version of this product and attached it to my trailer tires. These are standard 15 inch tires that have a requirement of 50 psi. This was the third brand of these "quick pumps" I have purchased. In each case I attached the inflation hose to the tire (both ON and OFF the vehicle) and let it run for 20 minutes or so. The starting psi was about 35 psi and after 20 minutes the psi hadn't changed. I used a hand pump and had the tires up to 50 psi in a matter of minutes. I don't know who wrote the other two reviews before me, but maybe it's all in the way you hold your mouth! In any case - THUMBS DOWN on all brands of this product. It can't do what it says it can!

I am 48 and have a bad back. My daughter lives in another state so she can not help me. My husband had a stroke in `89 & is paralyzed on one side...so he can not help me. Ok, I can not use the air pumps at stations as they are very heavy, to heavy for me and I can not lean over for long that far. I have tried cheap air pumps, they don't work for me. I even bought one for $79 and it is good but you have to hold it on the tire air stem and when I tried it, I lost ALL the air in my tire. lol I could not keep a good seal.
(and that one took me over 10 min's and over 20 min's for my daughter to refill the tire....she was home for the weekend.)
I need to be able to do this myself , no problems, when I need it.
I tried this today (got it yesterday) and it worked GREAT!!!)
First, the hose you use to attach to the tire stem is just the right size and screws on for a GREAT fit and seal!
Next, it sits on the ground, a must for me, I can not lean over any longer then it takes to attach it.
It also has a gage on it that helps. When it says 40, my tire pressure is about 33 (it needs to be 30) so I need to learn what is what, it goes 20-40 and when putting the air in..turn it off and it goes to right mark, it reads a tad high.
But easy to learn what the right mark is from using it. Everything but the big hose you use for air matterss, etc. is stored inside and attached. I love it.
Also, I have a ford taurus wagon and the air stem angles a bit to the side, even my daughter had problems (no problems with her Aztec as the stem is straight out) but with this hose, doesn't matter what the angle of the stem is, it works fine and is VERY easy to attach and use.
If you have any problems, as I have, this works great and worth every penney. Oh, it took me under 12 min's to do 2 tires! (including attaching and unattaching each tire.)
I hope this helps some.
