This figure is great. The only assembly is putting a branch piece on his head which you probably only need to do once. His right arm moves when u pull a branch back and his mustache and tongue moves aswell. The elbows and 4 fingers bend aswell. The knees dont bend much but you can move the whole leg. I strongly reccomend this to anyone who collects the Armies of Middle-Earth figures b/c this guy is just the right size for Merry and Pippin (or anyone else) to put on.

I was really excited to get this action figure from THE LORD OF THE RINGS because Treebeard is one of my favorite characters in the novel. This action figure apparently isn't as large as one that was released a year ago. However, it is taller than most of the other LOTR's action figures and it stands on a shelf on its own fairly easy. The limbs are pretty movable and the detail on the figure is extraordinary. This is a great gift for any LOTR fan, but not recommended for smaller children.

Treebeard is awesome...a few reviewers have complained about his non-flexibility, but I haven't had such bad luck. His knees take a bit of work to bend, as do his elbows, but every figure that comes out of the box needs to be bended a bit to loosen the joints up...it just makes sense to do that if the figure has been sitting in a box at the store for a while. It could also be that I was particularly lucky in getting a limber Treebeard, I'm not sure. With a little work, Treebeard can be bended at the joints and actually does a pretty good job of standing up on his own.

What is neat about this figure though is the detail...an extraordinary amount of leaf and moss detail that really makes him look just like he was in the movie. I prefered getting this smaller figure instead of the giant talking Treebeard simply because a 6-8 inch figure is easier to put up on a shelf than a 14-inch figure. He is larger than the other LOTR figures, though, so if you stand him next to the hobbits, for example, the size ratio looks fairly good. I have both the Merry and Pippin figures from the first movie, and amazingly they managed to fit on top of Treebeard (it took a bit of work though) so now you can re-inact the battle scene at Isengard if you like! Treebeard comes with an arm-swinging, throwing action and a removable tree part that you can put in his arms and "throw". When he does this move, his mouth and moustache also move, making it look very authentic to the movie.

This figure has tremendous detail and will be fun for all ages. A must have for LOTR collectors, enthusiasts, or kids who just want to have fun! Very much recommended!
