Whether you haul your miter saw to the jobsite or bring the work into your shop, this is a great choice for a stand to hold your saw. Even the beefiest miter saw fits without fussing, and it holds an impressive 500 pounds. Mounting is not complicated, even if the holes on your saw base don't line up with the predrilled holes on this base. All you need is a subtable of 3/4-inch plywood and you're set. Whether you mount your saw directly to the saw stand or to the plywood first, removing it is a cinch. And working at your saw on this stand is even better. The work height is 36 inches, comfortable for a broad range of body types, and it's got great support at both infeed and outfeed with 13-inch "T" fixtures. Overall, the stand will handle 116 inches of stock, so the trim carpenter will be really pleased with this stand. But what we like best is its easy portability. You don't have to remove your saw to either head on back home from the jobsite or store it neatly in a space-challenged workshop. Just slide the saw to the left, press the lock buttons, walk the saw down to the ground and let the legs fold in, close up the other legs and you're ready to go. on rugged six-inch wheels. It even rolls without folding it down. The fit and finish are quality, and the powdercoating will withstand even the nastiest conditions. Stupid, please help me make sense out of this... - Reviewed on 2008-06-13

I bought this from my local hardware store here in San Diego. Apparently there are 2 versions of the PM4400, an older one and a newer one. The store where I purchased mine had the cheezy one on display with the garbage mounting clamps. Then, after looking through the boxes of these, I found one that had a different picture on the box, the picture included these quick release mounts with the squeeze handle. You know a product is NO GOOD when after opening the box and looking at it, you go no further. 30% of the mounting and pivot bolts were barely catching threads in the nuts (the bolts were too short), not even close to threading into the nylock portion of the nuts. I could turn many of these nuts with my fingers! Next, the real deal breaker - the quick release mounts. These mounts have squeeze handles that stick down about 2 inches past flush with the foot pads. This means that when the saw is not on the stand and it is just being stored on a shelf or the ground, the flex springs for the squeeze handles are permanently squeezed about 1/2 the way. I believe that the thin piece of metal that makes up the flex springs will loose their "spring" if the saw smashes them down for prolonged storage. I squeezed one ALL THE WAY about 10 times, and after that it softened up and was not as stiff as the other one. So, I think I will return it tomorrow and go with a Stablemate or another one.

Overall nice heavy duty stand,mounted a Cobalt 10" sliding saw to it. Saws back mounting holes closer together than front,Included were adapters for this but they were not mentioned in instructions.Other reviews complained about mounting springpins in legs,but this one already had that part installed at factory.Maybee the manufactuer actually reads their rewiews.

My chop saw had legs that were too thin for the included bolts. I went to a local Hardware store to replace the bolts. I had to replace the nuts also because the included bolts are an odd ball. The guy at the hardware store could not quite figure out what they were. They were not standard ISO metric, SAE, or USS standard bolts. Very strange. But overall if you need a chop saw stand and don't mind investing a couple of bucks on nuts and bolts then don't hesitate to purchase this unit. Works great!!

The assembled stand was wobbly. Folding and unfolding the legs was very difficult. I returned it.

I bought this before the Home Depot opened here and because I needed it NOW. HD has better pieces for less money. The unit is flimsy and the leg latches are funky. It works and is handier than not having one, but shop around and you can do better.
