Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Album Description

Middle Pillar Presents announces the release of ZOAR’s third album: the epic and powerful Clouds Without Water.

Called by the New York Times as "Masters of the cinematic instrumental", ZOAR has assembled a stunning array of vocalists, including Brendan Perry (DEAD CAN DANCE), Matt Johnson (THE THE), Jennifer Charles (ElYSIAN FIELDS) and newcomer Julie Comparini, for their dark ambient compositions.

Clouds Without Water is a soundtrack that takes us to the edge of the modern abyss, a sonic painting of the beginnings of the 21st century. CWW warns us to look, but more importantly listen, to the world’s fading consciousness instead of ignoring it.

You will actually feel your brain pulsate at times! Wear headphones while giving this a listen and you will squirm in your ez-chair. This is the first Zoar album ive bought, but it will not be the last. The guest vocalists on this album are fantastic. Buy this or steal it, but get this album somehow.

Zoar are like no ther group out there. The only other group to come even close is A Murder Of Angels. Where as A Mureder Of Angels is more sound scapes and electronic washes, Zoar tend to be more horror movie soundtrack like. The violins and cellos add a sorrowful depth and a haunting quality to the music.

"In Golden Light" is a sorrowful, floating piece with a startling mournful female vocal by Julie Comparini that coasts along with a quiet power. The cello echoes richly in the backgound as the song labors forward.

Brendan Perry formerly of Dead Can Dance takes over th vocals on Winter Wind. Another haunting piece

Ashed Falling makes you think of ancient Pompeii

In These Rooms is a creepy tale of murder.........

Any of the 3 Zoar albums are worth your $$$$$
