While I had some awareness of Sandy Denny through the Fairport Convention Leige and Leif album, and knew she sang on one of my favorite Led Zeppelin albums, I would have to characterize myself a rank beginner when it comes to all things Sandy Denny. In an effort to gain access to other work, I chose to buy this album and see what else I might be missing.

I found a rich collection of songs that reveal a complex talent. Through her music she reveals an aching soul. From time to time I seek such music and found this very satisfying in that regard. It should not be considered a final definitive work for there are many more and potentially richer sources of her work. But if you wish to find out if you like Sandy Denny, this is a great place to start.
