"OldTimer Likes This First Person Shooter" - Reviewed on 2008-07-01
I'm not computer savvy like many of the reviewers of this game, I couldn't recognize a gigabyte if it bit me, and I would hazard a guess that most of the reviewers are my sons' ages, but I do know what I like. Since I retired, I've played many of this type of game, and while the training mode can be a bit frustrating, the remainder of the game is well thought out, and fun to play. It is neither too easy nor too hard, moves along well, and the graphics are adequate. I haven't completed it yet, but the sections I've finished were engaging, and I look forward to the next level. All in all, a good game, worth the money.
Not to be played on a full stomach and not for children - Reviewed on 2006-03-25

Man oh, man, was this game ever gory. I remember the first time that I played this game and I almost puked. I mean, the first shot at a bad guy that I took, ripped his whole arm off. It was disgusting. I am telling you this honestly, note; THIS GAME IS NOT FOR CHILDREN AND IS NOT TO BE PLAYED BY THE FAINT OF HEART OR ON A FULL STOMACH!!! Don't believe me? Go to Gamespot.com, type in Soldier of Fortune, and look at the screenshots and pretty much all of them will show up looking like buckets of blood and decapitated bodies. However, for those that are looking for a good solid action and can handle the content of the game, I highly recommend this but not on a full stomach.
So, parents, with this said, it was a great idea to write to check your child's wish list twice, and if this game shows up, the answer should be no way in hell.
