at 61 years old, i still have fun playing with a gameboy adv. system when i am away from home... the ultimate brain game gives me hours of challenges with various games and different difficulty levels... its worth the price.

I highly recommend this game. It is very challenging, even on the simple games like connect 4. I couldn't stop playing. I had to buy it for my little sister as well. After playing it, she wanted it also and she's 14.

This game has a good variety of puzzles and grown-up games. However, it is misleading for the maker of the game to say "works on Nintendo DS." While this is true - it does work - it only works on the top screen, making it exceedingly difficult to see the game. If you have a Nintendo DS and not a Game Boy Advanced, wait for the DS version, so that you have a game that plays on both screens, and is stylus-active. I'm sorry I didn't wait.

I picked this up on recommendations from others that this title was worth the bang for the buck. Well, even on easy level I found myself blindly frustrated by its ability to pull off tactics in chess or connect four that left me wondering if I was even playing the game correctly.

For the amount of money you pay though, its hard to beat the fact that you get multiple games in one package (check out other titles for the GBA that have the same kinds of games, at higher prices, or only offer one of the games included in this cart, for the same price). The graphics and sound are good as well, although others here have mentioned the glitches that sometimes occur.

If you really like a challenge and like the kind of parlor games offered by Ultimate Brain Games, I'd recommend that you try it out.

Although graphics are limited on a GBA the game does reasonably well. "Sink Ships" has some difficulty in creating graphics so that a sunk ship can be distinguished. Otherwise it's "OK".

My biggest gripe is with the chess game. I'm not the best or the worst chess player but even if I "dumb-down" the chess game it ALWAYS wins. It also can castle, but provides no instructions or any intuitive way for the player to castle. It would be better if it would allow the player to win occaisionally. This makes the chess game very frustrating and not fun after a few dozen games of chess.

Same thing goes for checkers, it makes multiple jumps but doesn't provide a way for the player to do the same.

I've played the Mah Jong game a few times, and it always ends up the same... with tiles left and none match.

The reversi game is a bit better and is winable. I haven't tried the dominos game yet and the others only once so far.

Overall it's a bargain considering the quantity of different games it provides but it lacks the "fun" factor by making games impossible to win.
