NETGEAR has made setting up network devices as painless as possible with their interactive Installation Assistant that guides you through setup step by step. Configuration is done through an easy-to-use web interface.

The RP614 features four auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports that will figure out each network connection without any need for manual switches. The RP614 allows for transfer of movies, music and photos at up 200 Mbps so the video and sound will be clear.

Two security methods are utilized to keep the network secure: Network Address Translation (NAT) and Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI). SPI safeguards against popular Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. For parents, content filtering allows you to set filters so that children are unable to reach websites with certain keywords or domain names, such as those associated with pornography. Web access can also be limited by the day of the week and time of day.

I have always liked the Netgear product. This router is great. I had a few issues installing this product due to other hardware that I have. Netgears customer service walked me through the whole troubleshooting process and really helped me out. Its all in the service and Netgear has the best.

Netgear RP614 works very well with my iMac and Tivo Box. Easy and simple to set up. The manual doesn't even mention that with Mac OS Leopard systems, all the set up work is done automatically by Netgear's on-line software.

After reading numerous router reviews I decided to get this model. I got off to a rocky start but perserverance paid off. The first router was declared defective by Netgear tech support in India which I found helpful and efficient. I returned it for a replacement and installed it on my Comcast cable system with a fair amount of difficulty. I remembered some of tech support's advise from a few weeks earlier so was able to figure it myself. I suspect it may have been difficult to set up due to the complications I ran into with the first router or my lack of expertise. At any rate, it has been up and running for well over a month without one glitch. It runs efficiently with no maintenance issues or dropped connections. I run it on Comcast with 3 computers. I notice no speed issues or slow downs. I very pleased with this Netgear router and this has been my first Netgear device so I rate them highly in spite of first item that turned out to be defective.
