ATTICUS FAULT IS MORE THAN A ONE CD BAND - Reviewed on 2008-09-20

I DO NOT RECALL WHAT MADE ME BUY THIS CD,BUT I HAVE PURCHASED 2 SINCE.
I TRULY WORE THE FIRST ONE OUT.
THIS IS A BAND THAT HAS IT ALL!!
MELODY,HOOKS,WRITING ,COMPOSITION,AND ARE CAPABLE OF MAKING UNBELIEVABLE MUSIC FOR YEARS TO COME.
IT IS UNFORTUNATE ABOUT THEIR SAD DEMISE,HOWEVER ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN,AND HOPEFULLY THEY REALIZE THE FOLLOWING THEY HAVE.
THE NAME ITSELF IS BRILLIANT.
THE SONGS ARE CONSISTENT AND NOT CONFUSING EACH HAS ITS OWN STRIKING PERSONALITY.
I CAN NOT EVEN THINK OF A BAND TO COMPARE THEM TO,I SIMPLY PUT THE CD ON FOR FRIENDS AND LET THEM DRAW THEIR OWN CONCLUSIONS.

I picked this up the local cd shop used, took a quick listen, put it back, but then picked it up anyway. Wow! I was amazed by this one. It had the progressive elements, the melodic moments, the pop flare, and for good measure a little Christan influence. Although a couple of songs are a little too pop oriented for me the overall cd is sound. Best track for me on the whole cd is 'Mary Mother'. Put that on a Christan cd and you'll probably get thrown out of church only because of the words that they use which would be deemed inappropriate, but very thought provoking. If you get this cd and add it to your collection, do so today and you will not be disappointed. It's just a shame that the band broke up and you can't find any word out there on what's next. Even though the one reviewer left a website it's no longer available so you would have to assume something must have really have happened for this band to just quit after one great cd.

They are back together in 2008 and currently working on a new cd. You can find them on My Space.

Three weeks ago, I had never heard of Atticus Fault. It was cross referenced on Amazon to another album that I purchased and when I listened to the samples on-line, I was intrigued enough to purchase the CD.

I received it a few days later, popped it in the player and put on my headphones. I was immediately drawn in by the stunning musicianship and soaring melodies. After three tracks, I literally said out loud, "Holy crap! These guys are good!"

Repeating listenings similarly left me shaking my head. I was/am mesmerized by this music. Some tracks are reminiscent of Pink Floyd (especially track 1) but the overall sound here is uniquely Atticus Fault. Highly recommended.

Short and sweet....by FAR the best CD released in the last 10 years. Unfortunately they broke up. Todd Evans has a new band called THE GOLDEN (www.thegoldensounds.com), so look for their new release sometime after the first of the year. Can't say enough about this CD....and I'm 48 years old.

A very enjoyable, entertaining album from start to finish. The music stays fresh with multiple styles and a great blend of vocals, guitar work, and thoughtful lyrics. You can't go wrong!!
