Piano music anyone? - Reviewed on 2008-12-03
Alright, Cavanaugh park and Globes and Maps are the easiest songs to like, however there also the slowest, if you want there best song which, once you listen to the whole c.d a few times WILl be the one you will play when people ask about the band is "hurricane". If you want to know what type of music they play, the amazon tags in relevance are dead accurate. For my personal description, piano, with about a three doors down heaviness, please don't think this is a metal band like liquid tension expirement or Dream theater, it's a light rock band. If you've heard Jack's Mannequin, it's the same composer and singer, except something corporate is heavier and not songs all about girls but more about experiences. If you like one, you will like the other. To help you out, hurrican piano solo notes are.
left hand are normal notes, right hand is in brackets, left hand note is played simaltaneously with right hand note. The second note in your right hand is the lowest right hand note of that sequence.
a(a,e,c,e,b,e,a,e) f(a,f,c,f,b,f,a,f) c(g,e,c,e,b,e,a,e) g(g,d,c,d,b,d,a,d)
If anybody wants to help clarify that, go for it, the notes are there though, just not well described. Cavanaugh park chord are b, e, Ab,Gb
ALl major chords, if you've got an hear, you can figure out the right hand. It's based on "Eb, Gb , B" as individual notes, and then you switch the "Eb" to a "E" and then once you've moved back, you play "Db, Gb, Bb" these sets of three repeated are played with the left hand notes "Eb" "E" "eb" Db"
Drunk girl start on a G major chord, there's an E flat you throw in, it's easy to figure out
Hopefully if you can follow these they help, I gave the c.d five stars so obviously I'm a fan, buy it unless you only like metal.
Best album in the last 5 years - Reviewed on 2007-11-12
Why do I say it's the best album in the last 5 years? Because it never comes out of my play list, I play the songs on this album more than any other.
It sucks when you go out and buy an album, take it home (or download), start to listen and you find out that the one song you liked is the only good one, or maybe your lucky and you find that half of them are ok...with this album they are all outstanding.
If you buy the DVD or download it don't worry, all the songs are great.
This is the best Something Corporate album out there so if you happen to like them, have heard of them, have an album or a song...get this album, you'll enjoy it.
Oh and I don't know why people are calling this emo, it's not, I don't get why it gets classed that way, it must be from people that don't know what they are talking about, emo fans wouldn't class it that way and neither do Something Corporate fans. If you must label it call it rock, punk rock or pop punk, any of those are a better descriptor.
