Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

98 Degrees' smooth, sanitized soul and lush, precise harmonies are more akin to Boyz II Men than the Backstreet Boys. Which is not to say that they attract a different audience than their boy-band brethren; their simplistic but addictive songs of love and heartbreak seem torn from the pages of a Harlequin romance. The 13 songs on this best-of are culled from their 4 albums (including "This Gift" from their Christmas collection), and they rely heavily on lead vocalist Nick Lachey's breathy vocals, well-crafted melodies, and sparse production, but why tinker with a winning formula? These very songs have racked up nearly $10 million in sales for the band. What they lack in imagination, they make up for in guest appearances. Mariah Carey not only loaned them "Thank God I Found You," the song she penned with Terry Lewis, but her voice pushes the romantic ballad to stunning heights. The band also gets a boost when label mate Stevie Wonder takes a verse of "True to Your Heart." His seemingly effortless vocals and trademark harmonica transform the beat-heavy tune into an old-school classic. --Jaan Uhelszki

One Of The Only Few Great Boy Bands - Reviewed on 2008-04-17

When 98 degrees came onto the pop scene back in 1998. I was not much into the boy band thing, But when I heard the first hit released by them titled "Invisable Man". I really liked the song, it did not sound like an ordinary boy band song from N'sync,Backstreet Boys,LFO etc. As time went on, they released other great songs such as I Do (Cherish You),The Hardest Thing, My Everything, and my personal favorite "True To Your Heart". Even though they are currently not together any longer, they did leave there mark. Still in my opinion, they were very underrated compared to N'sync and Backstreet Boys. Hopefully, they can do a reunion album soon. I recommend this album to you!

I was in my late teens/early 20s when 98 Degrees was popular. They were one of the few "boy bands" that I did enjoy during the mid-to-late 90s. Their music was more R&B oriented than their peers. This CD is a good collection of their hit singles.

If you want all of 98 degree's songs in one CD... this is the CD to buy. I can't stop listening to it. Plus there is a bonus - it plays clips of their music videos on DVD.

Gosh! Where was I during their reign? I believe I was into rock at the time.

Learned about Nick Lachey from the Newlyweds reality show and fell in love with his soulful voice from the show's theme song, "This I Swear". I instantly became a fan and got both of his albums and now I've got Nick fever, so I went back to his roots--98 Degrees. My first purchase is this collection of their greatest hits and I love, love it. Of course I got the rest of their albums and its good to hear all of their songs.

There is this soulful and harmonious quality to their voices that is unique and listening to them is relaxing and soothing to the soul and puts one in a good mood. It's easy listening for work and on leisurely days at home with your significant other. All the songs are great and I just can't pick a favorite, it's heavy with Nick's lead vocals which I like. These songs are what I would consider classic--they are enjoyable 6+ years later and will be for many more years to come.

I am in awe at the talent of this group, and even more so after watching Nick's VHI's Behind the Music and learned about their humble beginnings; how they love to sing and worked very hard at their craft. They're fantastic and definitely deserved better recognition.

Nick has an admirable, soulful voice and his talent is quite amazing. (I'm glad to see him out of that dreadful shadow and doing quite well on his own and getting the deserving recognition for his 2nd solo album). Jeff's voice is amazing as well and superb, and Justin and Drew are fabulous and blend in well producing great harmony together. I would most certainly hope that 98 Degrees reunites to make more beautiful music for their fans and future generations to enjoy.
