Quickfix: Core Yoga presents a short but effective workout that participants of all fitness levels can approach with ease. This 30-minute format is divided into three 10-minute sessions that focus on the basic practice of yoga. A series of sun salutations kick off the first segment, while the other two sets concentrate on strength and flexibility enhancing poses. The lower back, abdominals, and hamstrings receive intensive lengthening in both floor and standing postures. Each asana is shown in a modified form for anyone with a compromised range of motion or limited yoga familiarity. The instruction is informative and the music is not intrusive, so first-time students can collect the information that they need to execute each posture correctly without confusion. Breathing is touched upon briefly, but beginners may need more consistent reminders to maintain breath. Core Yoga is just that: a nuts-and-bolts course that addresses the fundamentals of movement and alignment in a limited amount of time. --Olivia Voigts

Nice workouts and technique - Reviewed on 2008-06-02

This is a good intro to yoga. I like how the instructor gives tips for each pose throughout, it helped me develop better techniques than some more advanced videos that do not cover basic pose advice.

I found a copy of this at a local thrift store and have been slacking on my yoga practice and thought a short pick-me-up would help. This tape is nice and, even though it is short, it has some really good postures included in it. Doing all three segments would be ideal and a nice little practice but even if you only do one of the 10-minute segments, it is better than nothing and you will feel results. The instructor is a bit on the annoying side but her instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is nothing overbearing or over-the-top to this tape; just clear-cut, to the point asanas. This would be great for beginners or people who are trying to get back into their practice like I am. I liked it and it was well worth the $1.99 I paid for it at the thrift store. :) Namaste.

All the tapes in the Quick Fix series consist of three short, 10-minute workouts; for each workout, a clock in the bottom right-hand of your screen counts down the time left. In the "Core Yoga" tape, each of the three workouts has a different emphasis. The focus of Program #1 is on breathing, and it consists mainly of sun salutations which you perform slowly at first and then faster. Program #2 focuses on strength and toning of legs and arms. This was the toughest section, as several poses, such as the plank, are held for an extended period of time. There are also some tough lunges for legs and one-armed balance poses for arms. Finally, Program #3 focuses on flexibility. This section includes only floor poses, mostly forward bends and twists.

The instructor had a soothing voice and cued well. However, she doesn't give detailed instructions, and so I would not recommend this tape to those unfamiliar with yoga (despite the fact that she says anyone can do the workouts). Also, there was something about her manner that turned me off; she had sort of an affected, snobbish way of speaking. Another thing I didn't like is the fact that the instructor and her assistants all used large square mats which means that if you're the typical person with a rectangular mat, you keep having to shift it around. One of the assistants offers modified versions of the poses, which would be good for beginners already familiar with yoga. Overall, I would rate this tape as just average, but it might be good for someone with severe time constraints wanting to squeeze in some yoga for relaxation rather than a real workout.

I have a multiskeltal disorder and I also have arthritis and scoliosis in my C and T Spine. I have an alergic reaction to sulfer base pain relievers including aspirins.

I had been working out on my power rider, however, I cannot always take my power rider with me when I am away from home.

I ordered the Quick Fix Yoga in January 2002 and it has changed my whole life. I can spend ten minutes doing the yoga exercises and I can wake up without pain or stiffness the following day.

I have come home hurting and stiff and I have done one of the 10-minute yoga workouts and I have been revived!

All my life I have had problems with my posture, holding my stomach in sticking my chest out, which creates a lot of chest pains and muscle spasms for me. Since I have been doing the yoga workouts, my posture has improve significantly and I experience less pain.

Workout 2 strenghtens the body and Workout 3 increases flexiability. Workout 1 increases my energy level. It also relieves stress.

If you have a very heavy schedule and you would like a program that you can use anywhere, I would recommend you try Quick Fix Yoga.

If you suffer from stiffness, I would recommend you try Quick Fix Program. Some of the workouts I could not ascertain right way, I had to work myself into it. It is now April, and I am beginning to feel comfortable with being able to perform each workout with ease.

I was weary when I decided to buy this tape -- after all, no one had reviewed it yet, and I wasn't familiar with the "Core" series of tapes. But I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the countdown timer, which let you know how many minutes were left in each of the 3 workouts. It was easy to see, but not intrusive. This is especially good for someone like me, who doesn't have a lot of time in the morning to exercise. I wanted a yoga tape that taught the sun salutation, and the first segment taught the different moves that make up the salutation. I liked this because not only did the instructor go step by step in describing and showing how each pose was, but one of the 2 background instructors showed how to do the moves in a modified form. This is great for yoga newcomers, who aren't very limber and unsure of what to do. All in all, a great buy!
