Product Description

Ergonomically squeezes garlic / Simply add genuine garlic flavor to a wide range of foods and recipes
Amazon.com Review

Make quick work of chopping garlic cloves with KitchenAid's garlic press--you'll wonder why you ever bothered with those jars of prechopped garlic. Simply insert a clove or two into the well, flip the handles together, and press down firmly--out through the holes comes your freshly chopped garlic. Cleanup's a breeze since nothing sticks to the polished stainless steel, and the handy brush quickly pushes out any garlic still stuck in the holes. You won't want to lose this little brush, so for storage, simply clip the brush to the press mechanism and fold the press closed. --Maile Rehbock

Great garlic press - Reviewed on 2008-03-26

My wife bought this press for me two years ago and I couldn't be happier. It feels very heavy duty and can press multiple cloves in one shot. We haven't had any problems with the handle. We always just rinse it off without running it through the dishwasher. The supplied plastic cleaning tool works well with it.
Pretty good press...until it broke - Reviewed on 2008-02-01

Like a previous poster, it worked fine until the handle broke. I would say I am a stronger than average woman, but I am no body builder. Was great and then the plastic portion where it meets the metal portion on the top snapped.

Disappointed, I have to say. I am sure I could get it replaced, but I need something more sturdy. I will have to try the one the previous poster suggested.

I'm a bit of a freak about my garlic presses; I know just what I want to see coming out of it (I also tend to slice the garlic off with a sharp paring knife as it comes out when I want very fine particles - try that without having three hands!) I was a happy puppy when I got my Kitchen Aid; it did the job with aplomb, and the large bowl made it easy to clean quickly. But... my wife managed to break a handle off when crushing. My wife is not, for the record, a professional wrestler or oil-rig worker (she's an anthropologist). Upon closer inspection, it's clear that the plastic handle (which inserts into the metal "head") simply sheared right off. A sad day for me, but I just ordered the Kuhn Rikon -- anyone as intense about their garlic press should have the BMW of presses, right? Right!

I bought this garlic press on the recommendation of my gourmet cook daughter. It worked very well, cleaned easily, and seemed sturdy enough to last a lifetime. Try a scant few years--we each have had to throw it away because of broken-off handles rendering it useless. A new design is in order. Not worth the money.
It's a garlic press. Meh. - Reviewed on 2007-09-09

OK. It is a garlic press. It presses garlic, then gets clogged with garlic. Then you get to clean it 2 or 3 or 4 times, put it in a drawer, and then repeat. Instead of this thing, get a good 8 inch or 10 inch chef's knife and use it to mince or macerate garlic cloves; at least a chef's knif will slice and dice, in addition to pulverizing cloves of garlic. Learn how to use a good knife before you drop any money on a garlic press like this, or from any other manufacturer. Yeah, I own one, but wouldn't if the inlaws hadn't thought it was a great time-saver ... for them. I use this thing when they are here; otherwise, smashing a clove of garlic with the side of the chef's knife, followed by a quick chops beats this thing hands down for speed and utility.
