I swear I dont know how anyone can rate these less than 5...
I have these and the bakeware and they are great. It goes without saying if you put HOT stuff in these bowls do not stick straight in the fridge, wait till it cools. Just like if you buy the bakeware and take out of oven, do not put cold water on a GLASS pan that just came out of the oven. Put warm or hot water in it. But these storage containers are great. Dishwasher safe, etc... Been using them for a year and the covers work perfect they do not slip off or whatever else I read.

Buy them, YOU WILL NOT REGRET it. Search for the other sets and get a bigger set for a better deal. I bought this set to add to the other bigger set I already have, to have a few extra ones.

These containers and their accompanying lids work great for storage in the fridge and freezer, have no trouble in the oven and stand up time and again to the rigors of dishwashing, but don't try to handle them bare-handed out of the microwave. Something about the composition of the glass allows it to accumulate heat from the microwave oven to the point where the outer surfaces of the bowl are actually hotter than the food inside. Many times I've found the bowls to be so hot that the only way to remove them was with a glove or oven mit even while the food inside was only lukewarm. My hands are pretty tough and can take quite a lot of heat before I have to let go, but when I've microwaved anything in these bowls for more than a minute or so, I can't even touch it. Using gloves or mits works, but makes handling the smooth glass bowls rather awkward and hazardous. I've tried leaving the bowls in the microwave for a while to cool down before attempting to handle them, but if you wait long enough for the outer heat to dissipate, then the food inside gets cool as well.

I had purchased them mainly to store and reheat leftovers, but have found the overheating of the outer surface to be such a hindrance, that I've actually gone back to plastic.

If you really need bowls for microwave reheating, I'd look elsewhere, but if all you need is lidded cold or room temp food storage containers that can take the oven and dishwasher, then perhaps these are for you.

Just a heads up, this is five containers and five lids, hence the "10 piece set". Perhaps this is obvious, but I've seen it fool people in the past.

This is definitely a "what you see is what you get" situation. These are high quality pyrex tupperware containers, and the lids are robust. Be a little careful putting the lids in a dishwasher, they will crack and degrade over time. Other than that they do the job, they are durable, easy to clean, create a good seal, and are easy to stack in the fridge. Pyrex is far superior to any plastic tupperware, so it's worth the extra coin. No complaints.

Glass containers are better than plastic containers because they do not stain nor smell. For health reason, it is safer heating food in glass than plastic. However, the plastic lids will wear out over time.
