I gave this 2 stars because it is a nicely built flashlight. However, it is a flashlight, and the purpose of a flashlight is to shine light onto things so you can see...at this, the Solitaire performs poorly.

Even with a fresh battery, it have a weak beam. It's simply not worth it, even for half the price. It just doesn't work well as a flashlight.

I've had this light for 5 years now, and I've never used it because it's so bad. It's the only flashlight I own that I don't use. Thankfully, it was only a Christmas gift.

This is a remarkable flashlight. Well constructed in every detail. Very handy. You can even hang it with your keychain with the included strap and keyring. It is very light in aluminum construction. Shockproof and water resistant. The light is pretty respectable for its size. You can adjust the spread of the beam by twisting the head, which is also its on and off switch. It uses a single "AAA" battery. Available in many attractive candy colors. It even includes a spare lamp inside the tail cap (under the spring).

I have bought a number of these for years as gifts.

Recommendation: This has been a classic mini flashlight for years. But with the advent of newer high output LEDs lamps, it is best to check out the LED flashlights for comparisons.

I bought a number of these to give as gifts when I went to Uzbekistan. Everyone that received one was very grateful for them. They come in handy when you least expect it. I paid $5 each. Wait for them to go on sale again. I care one of these as my keychain.

I bought a couple of these for stocking stuffers for my kids, who have complained that they don't have their own flashlight. These are tiny flashlights, only 2X as long as the AAA battery that goes in them, and only a little wider. The battery is loaded at the end of the flashlight where the keychain is. The light is bright for its size, and can be focused to give more intense light in a specific spot. As is the case with any Mag flashlight, the construction is very solid...you can feel the quality. Great little flashlight for around $5.

This little flashlight is perfect for keychain, I used every day in dark places and indeed It do the job pretty well.

Could be better if it has a white bulb light.
