Amazon.com Review

I don't know why the term "soda jerk" stuck, because anyone who whips up luscious shakes is anything but. This nifty Waring drink mixer proves that point, and is really easy to operate. First, slide the 28-ounce stainless-steel mixing cup up under the agitator and secure the lip under the cup holder, resting the bottom on the cup rest. Then, slide the control switch to low or high and that's it. It's versatile, too, and makes shakes or pancake batter, as well as whirring eggs and milk together for a perfect omelet. Best of all, its heavy-duty 2-speed commercial motor whips a cup of cream in less than a minute. And, if you're feeling swank, it mixes up a Grasshopper or Brandy Alexander in a snap. --C. I looked at all of the machines listed on Amazon. I read the reviews. The Waring appeared to be the best though I worried a bit about the pretty plastic motor cover. It almost fakes chrome steel, and now I know why! I use hard frozen ice cream and like my malts thick. My machine may be "faulty" but it overheated and quit the third time I used it. The Amazon vendor is a pain in the six and Waring's talking machine recorded my message (to call back) around an hour ago. I'm looking for a commercial grade machine!

My wife and I are happy with this mixer. I won't repeat what other's have said, but my only comment is the silver motor housing is made of shiny plastic. For the cost of this mixer, I would expect it to be made of metal. It does make delicious shakes and it's easy to clean.

I, too, was hesitant about spending this much $$ to make milkshakes; however, the kids love to make shakes and the standard blender is hard for them to clean (not to mention the sharp blades). After our first use, my 15-year-old son said that he was "Ecstatic!". Anyone with teenagers knows how hard it is to achieve an emotional response--normally I get a monosyllabic grunt.

My family loves old fashioned, real milk shakes. This product works like a dream and I made a perfect milk shake on the first attempt. It is sort of big and I was trying to find a place to store it in my kitchen and my family laughed. Keep it on the counter, they said, it won't be worth your time to put it away! It is worth every penny!!!

Earth to Waring, Earth to Waring: Standard American kitchens are designed with 18" of clearance from the counter top to the bottom of the cabinets. Your 18 3/8" tall mixer DOES NOT FIT on most kitchen counters. Hello, Waring, do you copy?

The unit looks well made, but the ridiculously tall design makes it impossible to store. It's also overpriced. It's going back...
