I just needed a storage device for my better knives. This is not what I'd want if I were transporting my knives all the time as there's no way to really hold the blades separated from one another. There's a flap that comes down over the blades, but nothing to keep them from tilting into one another.

Still, it works and I'm satisfied with it for the price.

This knife roll is worth the price. Its material is a thick vinyl with the Henckels logo actually embroidered, not merely stamped. I take it along to serious BBQs and it holds all I need.

In its seven slots I can easy carry a good-sized meat cleaver and Chinese cleaver in the big slot, plus a large scimitar and chef's knife, a large serrated slicer, a honing steel, a pot fork and blade spatula in the same slow, plus a paring knife and a tomato tool. Sometimes I will even add a boning knife to the mix, doubling it up with another knife.

I own two of these, they work well for storing my good knives, I do use edge protectors on my knives to prevent any damage to the knife roll. Really good item for the money.

The knife roll fits my 10" chefs and 10" carver with no problems. It's not quite long enough for my steel, but I'm not sure if any knife roll would be. Very simple, works well, and priced fairly.

The knife holder worked very well for traveling, protecting my precious knifes (and surrounding materials) during my recent two week trip. If you travel - and must have your knives, this item is well worth the money.
