Amazon.com Review

Farberware's Classic Series stockpots are crafted with performance and durability in mind. This 12-quart model features a highly conductive aluminum core sandwiched between layers of 18/10 stainless steel. The result is excellent and even heat distribution combined with a non-reactive, heavy-duty surface. The piece's mirror finish adds a gleaming beauty to the mix. Ideal for big batches of your favorite soups, pastas, and chili, the pot features oven-safe stainless-steel handles and a close-fitting lid for keeping in moisture. The rolled rim facilitates pouring. Efficient and attractive on the stovetop, the stockpot is also easy to clean and safe in the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard

Great Value For a Great Pot! - Reviewed on 2008-12-03

I purchased this pot to add to my collection of Revere (yes, Revere) pots, because I was not happy with the current quality of their pots. I purchased 2 Farberware pots and have been VERY happy, so far. I think the previous reviewers have said it all--nice finish, thick, even-heating bottom, heavier gauge metal than Revere, handy 12 qt size, fairly cool handles when cooking, easily scrubbed clean. I would have liked the spot-welded handles to be a little wider and welded a little better, but so far so good. Also, Amazon should pack stuffing ALL the way around pot in shipping box. They packed it to one side and stuffed two sides. Pot arrived with a small dent on unstuffed side; but it arrived quickly. I am pleased with the quality for the price I paid on sale.

Besides getting this pot at a great price and the shipping was super fast, I used it for the first time today to can salsa. It was so worth every penny. Even though I had to simmer the salsa for quite a while because I only have one canning pot, I experienced absolutely no sticking or burning in the center of the pot and I have a gas stove. What a wonderful experience; highly recomended.

We received our stockpot really quickly and began using it right away. It has been well worth the money we paid for it. It is large enough to make a BIG batch of spaghetti sauce, ham and beans, soup, etc. The heat is well distributed, and there has been no sticking. Clean up is really easy. I'd highly recommend this stockpot.

This is a heavy-duty pot which is perfect for cooking for my family of six. The lid and pot handles are metal, but they stay surprisingly cool. After cooking soup, I can lift the pot without potholders. Prior to this, I had a Circulon stock pot. The non-stick coating wore off too fast! This pot is actually easier to clean, because I don't have too worry about damaging the surface. The bottom distributes heat evenly to avoid hot spots and burnt food.

I've used the 12-quart Farberware stainless-steel stockpot twice so far. It's a pretty nice heavy-duty pot, but they could improve on a couple of things. First, the handles should be bolted onto the pot (or part of the mold of the pot), but instead they're just soldered on, which doesn't make them look very durable. Also, the pot is an attractive shiny silver color, but already the metal inside the pot is stained brown (from cooking beef soup). And you can't scrub the pot with anything abrasive because scratches will show up. Last, even though the pot has a pretty thick layer of metal on the bottom, and even keeping the flame low, after many hours of simmering, the pot ends up with a little bit of food burned and stuck to the bottom. So, nothing too serious, but little things that could be better. All in all, it's a decent pot.
