Useless with LCD - Reviewed on 2009-05-26

This was perfect for my 19" CRT for many, many years, but with LCD monitors it is an eye sore and takes up too much desk real estate.

After a hideously long wait ... I finally had a chance to use this with my Sony 200 PS monitor, and it works great- I don't have to slouch and the area underneath lets me stash USB hubs, reference manuals, and other goodies. After one day, my backaches are starting to fade already.

One word of warning- this just barely fits underneath a 17" monitor with a traditional pedestal. I wouldn't try using it with anything larger or anything with an unusual pedestal, like an LCD or an Apple CRT.

I have a new 19" flat screen monitor from Sony, who makes them with feet instead of a pedestal. This Fellowes stand may be able to take the weight of a 21" monitor, but it can't take the width, if the monitor is a newer style like mine. My monitor's feet are 15" apart; the stand is 13" wide. (Note: the box Fellowes sells it in is 18" wide and doesn't have the stand's measurements on it)
I Finally Stopped Slouching - Reviewed on 2001-01-12

Prior to purchasing this, I'd spend quite a bit of time looking down into my computer monitor. Needless to say, I was slouching for hours at a time and suffering from neck and shoulder pain. I finally found the solution by ordering this monitor riser.

Although it arrives unassembled, it was extremely easy to put together, even without looking at the directions. I'm impressed with the durability and design. Most of all, I'm grateful for what it's done for my posture.

Highly recommended!

This is an excellent monitor stand that goes as high as 6.5" and supports monitors up tp 80lbs. It looks great and has room underneath to hold just about anything. Not stated in the Amazon.com review is that this stand is the Fellowes Premium Monitor Riser, just in case you want to check it out in the nearest store.
