The title track's exposure on the massive Mortal Kombat original soundtrack gave this San Francisco-based duo a shot at success. Their blend of concise, ambient techno and Depeche Mode-like melodicism works best on a remixed "Unlearn," and the sumptious "The Breathing Room." --Jeff Bateman

"Ride" is the reason I bought this CD - Reviewed on 2007-10-15

On occasion I spin discs as a DJ and the song "Ride" is always in my mix, kind of spooky then dramatic, swelling keyboards and vocals. Not as danceable as some of their other stuff, but it sets a mood that is intelligent, sophisticated and dignified.

OMFG How is this album so overlooked? this is totally full on one of the most awesome albums anyone has ever produced, especially in the Electronica genres! If I had'nt liked Mortal Kombat, I would have never found this Jewel of the bargin bin. I got mine for $1.33 off here, Why is it anyone wants to give it up for so cheap? It must be becuase word did'nt spread fast enough in 1995 that Psykosonik is AWESOME, and they broke up... >.<
Although this action spliced the 2 members to become 2 more awesome groups [Basic Pleasure Model, and Hednoize]<

It really doesn't get any better than "Unlearn". I got it the day it came out and I still haven't grown tired of it. Easily my favorite CD, I have probably listened to this almost everyday. I have over a 1000 CDs in my collection and still haven't found one to top this album. Everyone needs to own it!
Not as good as there 1st album - Reviewed on 2006-01-10

This album is allot different than there 1st album. this album is more trance like and allot calmer. I prefer the harder techno-industrial style of the 1st album. I do enjoy this album though and it's too bad this band is no longer around.
Some really good stuff! - Reviewed on 2005-12-11

Unlearn is a mixed collection of ambient synth and dark synthpop interwoven throughout the album....definitely hosts some of my favorite songs. You'll get instant gratification from the first six tracks, the rest had to grow on me, and now every track is excellent.

It's too bad these guys aren't still together these days...I'm sure if they stuck with it, they would have some really amazing stuff in the synthpop, and perhaps even the ebm realm. I've seen them on different projects, such as Basic Pleasure Model (founder Paul Sebastian) and Hednoize (Daniel Lenz), but haven't really heard much of either project.

I highly recommend for any synthpop fan.
