REVENGE Sadly isn't good - Reviewed on 2008-05-30

First off, I'm a HUGE KISS fan but I draw the line at Creatures of the Night, once they took the make-up off, i stopped listening. I always dug the song 'Domino' though and figured after all these years that i'd give REVENGE a chance since i've always heard it's where 'Creatures' left off...But this CD sounds just like the other late 80's stuff they did, just a little grittier which doesn't make it any better. This CD is just a little too much of what I didn't like about KISS in the mid to late 80's. When i listen to these songs it's hard not to imagine Paul Stanley in Neon Pink/Green prancing around Crazy Nights-style. I'll stick to the early days.

Kiss hits home with Revenge. After dealing with the untimely death of Eric Carr, Kiss gets back to what they do best. Rock & Roll.

Gene's demonic voice is back starting off the album with UNHOLY. Usually it's a Paul Stanley song that starts off a Kiss album. Up second in TAKE IT OFF, Paul Stanley at his best. I feel this album is a real good rocker. Turn this one up as well, for it will get you going. Stand out tracks are TAKE IT OFF, HEART OF CHROME and GOD GAVE ROCK & ROLL TO YOU 2.

You will not be dissapointed with this album!!

Released in 1992, and KISS finally manage to sound like they've reached 1985!

Now, I have nothing against 80s music, but it seems that they should stick to the tried and true or release something up with the times. Had this been put out in 1985, it probably would have fit right in, but for an album released around the same time as Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion albums, Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power, and the birth of grunge with albums like Alice in Chains' Dirt, it sounds a bit dated.

Not that this is a bad album, mind you. It's heavier than some of their earlier work, and more aggressive and energetic, too. That is much appreciated by this listener.

Incredible album!
KISS never sounded so good. Any hard rock or metal fan should check this one out. One of the best ever made.

Personally, I am a fan of the original line up of KISS. But the Revenge album must be one of the best Kiss albums ever released. With tracks such as "Unholy" and "Domino", not much can compare with this album. Both Bruce Kulick (L. Guitar) and Eric Singer (Drums, Backing Vocals) gave KISS a new edge on this album. I recommend this album without reserve. Any "DIE-HARD" KISS fan will likely appreciate this album. Enjoy.
