Bee Gees bring the pain live and then some. the harmony and overall instrumentation will knock you out. just the drum and percussion break down with "you should be dancing" is the Sho Nuff truth. to hear the Grooves and response from the audience speaks volumes ten fold. a Must have for any Bee Gee fan. they threw down on this compilation and it holds up very strongly. One of the best Live albums that i have ever heard.these Guys were Genius in the Studio and bring the pain live as well.

"Here At Last..." is the first live recording by the Bee Gees since they started their incredible world wide appeal in 1967. Masterfully crafted, Rolling Stone magazine stated that it was one of the finest live recordings to date (circa 1977). Indeed, it encompasses all of the Bee Gees trademark arrangements, including a nine song medley, finishing with the a paired down bluesey version of "To Love Somebody". "You Should Be Dancing" clocks in at a record 9:22 minutes, including a stunning drum and persussion solo between Dennis Bryon and Joe Lala. All the major hits 'just before' Saturday Night Fever are here and done well. Finishing with a rousing "Jive Talkin'", the Gibbs come back for a spine-tingling encore of "Lonely Days". The second chorus guitar/drum startup of this song is incredible. This double-CD has been reissued just recently in Japan, since "One Night Only", due to high demand. Get it before it sells out again.

Following the release of CHILDREN OF THE WORLD,the Bee Gees went on tour and recorded this album at the Forum in Los Angeles on December 20,1976. MAIN COURSE,COTW's predecessor was still a hot-selling album. This was the era of disco and those two albums are "jive-talkers". The songs from MC and COTW sound very much the same on this album except the tempo is a bit faster. They also deliver a variety of their Atco Records tunes(those originally recorded on that label) such as NEW YORK MINING DISASTER 1941,LONELY DAYS,HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART,TO LOVE SOMEBODY and a medley of others. Joining the band is their employed brass ensemble The Boneroo Horns who had worked on COTW. The brass band should have worked on this album's 1997 sequel ONE NIGHT ONLY. Many songs on this album also appeard on ONO. After this album,the Bee Gees would jumpstart their now-deceased brother Andy Gibb's short,but memorable career. Because this album was recorded on 12/20,the band wished their audience a Merry Christmas. A must for all Bee Gees fans.

I had just seen the Bee Gees in concert on their Spirits Having Flown tour in 1979 when I first heard this album. At the show, the thing that struck me most were the sweet harmonies. I haven't heard anything that sweet before or since. When I heard this ablum I was so glad there was a recording that captured their harmonies sweet and live. From the ending chord change on Massachusetts to Love So Right, Nights on Broadway, this is truly the Bee Gees at their best. No Bee Gees fan should be without this record, and even if you don't like them all that much, if you like music at all you should still check this out.
