Take 3 kids with a vision. Not a musical prodigy among them. Not cutey pie types, nor fancy lyrical song writers.
Not even a good voice in the band.
Watch them do something that can never be equaled by anyone.
Rock and roll is beautiful!

People think Tho Who was the loudest band around in 1968. Wrong they could not hold a candle to Blue Cheer. Their first two albums VINCEBUS ERUPTUM and OUTSIDE INSIDE were recorded outside the studies because they were so loud. This album and OUTSIDE INSIDE is by far their best. Blazing lead solo's by Leigh Stevens will blow you away.Listen to PARCHMENT FARM and you will see what I mean. Blue Cheer was underrated. which is to bad because they are a great band Because of them we have hevey metel today. The album has only six songs but three were written by Dick Peterson{bass} Buy the album because I know you will enjoy it Rock On.

Realesed in 1968 Blue Cheer's first album, "Vincebus Eruptum", may just be one of the best albums they have ever realesed and was one of the first albums that started heavy metal. This album is a loud psychedellic heavy blues album. A very classic 60s album and great for anyone who loves loud acid rock music. Though this album maybe clocking in at just 31 minutes long it mannages still too be a great album and is a true classic.

blue cheer was great / loud/ psychedelic distortion / a real treat for acid heads and rebels of the time / mind blowing racks of marshals stacked 15 feet high and 30 feet wide / unfortunately the sound quality on this cd is so bad you can not experience a fraction of the experience of their music by listening to this cd / do not buy this cd / it's just terrible sound with the vocals all up front loaded without the signature sound of the guitars / very bad /this cd needs to be remastered / don't waste your time or money

Straight up metal, 1968 style. This album by Blue Cheer really does have the leg up on all of the loud rockn' giants that would come around in the years to follow. And even when it comes to those giants, they may lack the pure intensity of this classic.
Have you ever layed awake dreaming of a heavy dose of sixties acid metal, that doesn't skimp on the acid, but never slacks on the metal either? Blue Cheer is everything the breed should be. There were other bands in this time frame that were louder than the norm, but no one hit it quite on the head the way that these guys did. Just check out the opening offering, a cover of SUMMERTIME BLUES that destroys any other... I love the original version of this song, and I even can say that The Who did some wonders with the song, but Blue Cheer morph this song into a wild swinging beast of tripped madness. All the while shouting "Dig THIS!" and choppin up the spoken word parts, by replacing them with instrumental crash fests. Insane! I can feel the awesomeness right in my face.
The rest just rocks out too. The tunes never get drawn out. A pair pass the six minute mark, but it certainly doesn't try to hard to do it. Every song is packed end to end with solid rock, that gets freaky on your brain. Look at these weirdos! Long hairs! Are they human? Who knows, but they can rock the block off.
Psychedelic sixties don't get much more trashy, fast, raw and tripped out all together, the way they could, when the Blue Cheer took on the task.
You may have to sacrifice a set of speakers to dig the full extent of this on high, distorted volume... but its worth it. Dig IT!!!!
