Along with The Mad Lads and The Dramatics, The Temprees recorded some very sweet and soulful romantic ballads for Stax Records. Although their peak was short, classic ballads like "Explain It To Her Mama", "Dedicated To The One I Love" and the immortal "Love Can Be So Wonderful" place The Temprees in the same league as The Stylistics, The Delfonics and The Dells.

The Temprees capture that special part of your relationship when everything is right. If you are in love this album is for you. If you have ever been in love this album will remind you of what it is all about. Dedicated to the one I love, My Baby Love, Love can be so wonderful, I'm for you, you for me are songs that I played over and over on the original album and I find myself all these years later still doing the same thing. I absolutely love the Temprees' music because its music for lovers.

I love the Delfonics, Sylistics, Blue Magic and the many other falsetto groups of that time - and they are such super talented groups, but the Temprees are the best of this style just in terms of raw vocal performance. The production is not as slick as the Stylistics, but there is so much energy and heartfelt, reaching-down-into-the-soul... if you like great soul music, you owe it to yourself to get this CD. Once you check this out , you will seek out all their other recordings.

On top of the great singing, the backing musicians are fantastic. The playing is very tasteful, tight, and it all sounds like it was done together in one take (and I mean that in the best way possible). This is one of my dessert island CDs. Musicians definitely need this in their collection no matter what style you like.

It's the old school music, music back in my teen years, nice and melody.
