These are great little books. when I ordered it I thought it was going to be one full sized book that combined the contents of both the previous Color Index books, but it is not -- instead it's a "Box set" of the two little ones. Since I didn't own either of the previous indexes, I was not at all disappointed. I thought I was going to want it all in one book, but actually I like this better -- the two books are set up to be "searched" on different criteria -- sometimes you know what color scheme you want and sometimes you know what mood you want -- there's a book for each instance. I really appreciate that the color combinations are presented both in bar swatches and also in a mocked up design so you can really see the colors interact.

I love the complete color index book! I have been a freelance graphic designer for 8 years and just starting in web design and I don't know how I got along without it. I am able to just have my clients sit down and look through the books and pick which color scheme they like and I have the color build formula right there to go from, so no guestimating at all! LOVE IT!

I am a graphic designer and I have considered the first "color index" book and "color index 2" to be INVALUABLE. Not only have I saved thousands of dollars in CMYK color books, but it has allowed me to show clients a slice of the vision on any project with it's color combinations and descriptions. However, I will not be purchasing this combined version of the two because it states that it is hardcover and I'm afraid that it will also be rather large in size.

The content inside is undoubtedly impeccable. However, 60% of the reason I used the first two versions was the handy small size and durable 'turtleback' covers. They have a permanent place in my laptop bag for all consultations with clients. I won't be lugging around a hardcover book to my consultations anytime soon. Let me know when the small turtleback version of this comes out and I'll be the first one in line to purchase!

Also, someone make sure to post what the EXACT SIZE of this book is when you get an actual copy in your hands. I can't believe Amazon doesn't already list the overall dimensions of every book, but for this book in particular it has a lot to do with the usability of the product. Thanks!
